Well, let's see then. South Florida and Cincinnati are both Big East teams, and Central Michigan is on its way to a winning record in the MAC. South Florida is a bowl team that beat Louisville, and Cincinnati stinks.
Penn State's in conference schedule includes Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, Ohio State, Purdue, Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. That's a pretty good schedule. If Penn State were afraid to play with the Big Boys, they wouldn't be in the Big Ten. Michigan, Ohio State, and Wisconsin are currently ranked in the top 25, with two of them in the top 15. Northwestern just dropped out after a loss to Michigan, and I believe (though I'm not certain) that Minnesota was ranked in the top 25 last week too.
