OAR once again a pathetic attempt to defend our old pal JFFK! Kerry was on a two-week tour in Vietnam and spent about 20 minutes in a patrol boat. Threw one of his own men overboard so he could save him. Shot the first forgeigner he saw that just happened to be a kid. And the next day applied for a purple heart for a paper cut. Ya that's a lot of military experience. If his career in the US Navy was so stellar OAR why hasn't he released his military records yet? Kerry went to Vietnam for one reason it would look good on his resume when he ran for political office. Plain and simple.

OAR- yeah...it's rehash time again. Just for the record- How many years of experience do you have in front of a national audience daily of over 20 million listeners? A 'pilonidal cyst, while not life threatening, is an OPENING through the lower back into the (usually) colon area. Very uncomfortable, but cope-able. Tell me again- who it was that went to his commanding officer with a finger booboo and wanted recommendation for a purple heart, so he could be sent home from combat? Just for the record....I DO work in the medical field. I also have more respect for someone in America that at least serves in the National Guard( because I DID) than someone who when he gets out in the field in command of a speedboat when he hears shots guns the motor to RUN AWAY and in the process loses one of his own men overboard. Then, as someone else said, he needed a "notch" on his gun, so he fired indescriminately at some fleeing civilians and killed an adolescent native boy. Some legacy.

Which purple heart are you guys referring to? His first, second or third? A 2 week tour? That's up there will Gilligan being on a 3 hour tour. Kerry took over command of a swift boat in November of 1968. After being wounded for the 3rd time in combat, he was relieved of his command in April of 1969.

I've never spoken in front of 20 million people, but what does that have to do with his cyst? He had the cyst long before he got in front of the microphone. Let me ask you this Pale, is that a condition that is severe enough to keep one of out the military?

You can't honestly tell me that Kerry went into combat to improve his resume? If that's such a great career builder, I wonder why Bush, Cheney, etc. didn't follow suit? I wonder how many budding politicians today are joining the armed services in hopes of becoming president?

Oh I'm sorry three paper cuts or maybe he knicked himself shaving one morning. And scratched in himself in a briar patch gunning down that little kid! Kerry knew all along he was going to be a politican just like ALGORE.

What about his records OAR? Why won't he release them if his military record is so stellar. Heck you'd think from your perspective he's another Audie Murphy or Sergant York.

If he was so brave and valiant why did practically his whole command come out against him and not for him in his campaign. Answer that one too!

this just in..

AP
France has officially authorized its highest level of protective force. This raised alert, however, had to be lowered due to the fact that the key part of the force could not be found. German authorities were questioned as to the whereabouts of this key piece of equipment, but reported on several occasions that they did infact return the white flag to the French Government. French PM Chirac was found hiding in a cellar and was not available for questioning.

Southpaw when Senator Kerry served on the fast boats, this was his second tour in Vietnam. If he was only looking for a notch on his belt for his political asperations, would not his first tour been enough.

Jim Rassmann -- a Republican veteran that Democratic Presidential Nominee John F. Kerry rescued under fire in Vietnam to win the Bronze Star -- says a campaign launched by the GOP-backed Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ad was "launched by people without decency" who are "lying" and "should hang their heads in shame."
"I am a Republican, and for more than 30 years I have largely voted for Republicans," says Rassmann, a retired lieutenant with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. He adds that Kerry "will be a great commander in chief."

Rassmann's account of his rescue flatly contradicts Kerry accusers who have attacked the candidate in a TV ad and a new book, Unfit for Command, released today by right-wing publishing house Regnery.

"This smear campaign has been launched by people without decency," Rassmann said. "Their new charges are false; their stories are fabricated, made up by people who did not serve with Kerry in Vietnam."

Rassmann gives this account of the events in Vietnam:

"Machine-gun fire erupted from both banks of the river and a second explosion followed moments later. The second blast blew me off John's swift boat, PCF-94, throwing me into the river. Fearing that the other boats would run me over, I swam to the bottom of the river and stayed there as long as I could hold my breath.

"When I surfaced, all the swift boats had left, and I was alone taking fire from both banks. To avoid the incoming fire I repeatedly swam under water as long as I could hold my breath, attempting to make it to the north bank of the river. I thought I would die right there. The odds were against me avoiding the incoming fire and, even if I made it out of the river, I thought I thought I'd be captured and executed.

"Kerry must have seen me in the water and directed his driver, Del Sandusky, to turn the boat around. Kerry's boat ran up to me in the water, bow on, and I was able to climb up a cargo net to the lip of the deck. But, because I was nearly upside down, I couldn't make it over the edge of the deck. This left me hanging out in the open, a perfect target.

"John, already wounded by the explosion that threw me off his boat, came out onto the bow, exposing himself to the fire directed at us from the jungle, and pulled me aboard."

Rassmann said he recommended Kerry for the Silver Star for that action, and learned only later that the Bronze Star had been awarded instead.

"To this day I still believe he deserved the Silver Star for his courage," he said
