Well, after today, Ridge looks to be the favorite.

As for the turning point of the Ridge/North Star match....it was the Lepley/McDannell match. Some would say that Lepley gave up a lot of weight to wrestle the young freshman, but from what I understand, the weight difference was only 11 lbs. Congrats to Ridge for a win well deserved and earned.

I have to admit that I am very suprised by that outcome. I have heard about this kid for sometime now. Looks like he has the chance to be a very good wrestler. However, everyone always talks of how good Lepley is. For a senior highly ranked wrestler to lose to a freshman! I would have to say Lepley is overated. Even so its a huge win and confidence booster for the CR boy.

How big is this kid? They kept saying on the radio last night that he was a horse and a stallion. That was a huge win beating Lepley. He pretty much won the match for his team right there.

I saw him wrestle last year and he is a really well built kid for his grade. Size and build he is about like Derek Tipton when he was a freshman . Thats what I thought anyway.

Overrated??? Lepley gave Nave his first loss last year. 2-time district finalist. Ya I'd say he's overrated just another chump for Boswell right Left-eye?

The McDannell kid is a heck of physical specimen for a freshman and doesn't weigh more than 200 lbs. He off to a great start just needs to keep his from swelling to big.

I forgot about him beating Nave. Don't get me wrong I think this was a huge win for McDannell. Makes it look even better with Lepley beating Nave. Its just hard to imagine that a freshman wrestling that weight could beat a senior of the caliber Lepley is supposed to be. Unless McDannell is actually that good and a state caliber kid.

Its early in the season and maybe McDannell got lucky. From what I heard both kids were running on empty at the end of the match. Maybe McDannell had a little more left in the tank.
