Here's what DeChellis had to say in Saturday's Post Gazette about the series with Pitt ending: "We would like to play local teams, but at the same time we have to do what's best for our situation. We're so centrally located in the state that all of the Division I schools have called us about playing. We have to do what makes sense for us. It's important for us TO PLAY AS MANY HOME GAMES AS WE CAN. You have to schedule games and win games at home." Schedule and win as many home games as we can???? Where have we heard that before? Seems like the battle-cry of PSU sports. Funny how MONEY doesn't seem as important in basketball. And who are all these local Division I teams calling the Nits about playing them? Villanova? Temple? St. Joe's? Maryland? Can't get anymore local than that. Don't see them on Penn State's schedule, do you?

Look. Again. The basketball program does not have 50 years where they are known as a top program. They have not won national titles. They do not get top recruits through bad seasons just because of name recognition. VERY funny how the PSU basketball situation is not being compared to Pitt football. They are both upstarts who are trying to make a national name for themselves. What sense does it make for Pittsburgh to go to the Bryce Jordan Center, load the arena with Pitt fans, and not get any of the revenue from it? It makes as much sense as PSU playing Pitt at Heinz Field. You should be argeeing with this!!!! Why would you want to let PSU cash-in on Pitt's basketball success??????

First of all PSU basketball and Pitt football are no more comparable than Pitt basketball and PSU football.
And Pitt would cash in from going to Penn State....It's called a Home and Home series. PSU gets one game and the gate, Pitt gets one game and the gate.
The advantage to going somewhere else is the attractiveness of a return game. don't you think Pitt would rather host Penn State than IUP???

How about JUST for the sake of playing? Does anyone ever think of that? You know, 2 teams goin' at each other just for the sake of the game.

Think anyone will be sleeping outside the BJC to be the first in line?? Can you say DeChellisville????
