If you wear a toupee', should you remove it during the playing of the National Anthem? What is the protocol on that? Is it just hats you remove, or anything on your head?

At graudation they always allow women to keep their boards on during the National Anthem, but ask men to take them off. Poor girls if their fancy hair gets messed up.

and one day, if I have kids, they'll do the same
people that are so stupidly optimistic, like theirs honestly a woman that is going to want to procreate with ham, i mean its idiotic to think such a thing. i can understand being optimisitic and all but at the same time you must also be REAListic. but hey thats just me!

*note...you will never hear me state "When i have kids..." i have accepted the fact that i was born alone, shall live alone, and will die alone.

You're in the military....You should know alcohol does some strange things to some people.

On another note: People who sing the National Anthem. If you can't sing it properly, with the respect it deserves, then don't. It is a song with a very low-to-high range. IMO, anyone singing it should be able to do so within the same key, without having to shift to another key or two just to do it. Makes it sound horrid.

You know how some guys have a ponytail? Do they need to remove that rubberband thing that keeps it in place? Or is the back of the head not considered anything on top of the head?

Seriously. You know how some guys prop their sunglasses up on their head when not wearing them? Should they be removed? I mean, what is the proper etiquette for something like that?

i think the etiquette for it is if it is designed to cover the top of your head and hide what would be there naturally then it must be removed. hence sunglasses are ok i guess since they dont really cover anything and are not designed as such. toupee's represent something natural, hair. so they too are alright i guess.
Gunner, I agree, discipline begins at home. Kids need to be taught that the national anthem is a time to be still and not be running around.

I've been to a lot of sporting events in my life, and very, very seldom have I seen kids misbehaving during the national anthem. Maybe they are not standing at attention with their hand over the heart. They may also be a little fidgety, but they usually are standing, facing the flag and quiet. For the most part, I do believe children act appropriately when the national anthem is playing.
In a packed CR gym tonight (anyone have a count?) for the Bedford/Ridge match, not one kid that I know of or within earshot misbehaved during the national anthem. I gotta agree with OAR here, with the exception of a baby that doesn't know any better, I don't think I've ever experienced seeing a misbehaved kid during the national anthem.
