Ann Coulter -- Oh you Ann!

I haven't read the book but have heard some of the comments she made. Even though her point may be a valid one, it would have been best left unsaid. Is anything gained by anyone for her having printed this, other than her selling books? Both sides of the aisle make these kind of comments when it really isn't necessary. Sometimes the best thing to do is keep your mouth shut. But in this day and age it seems most people think that if an idea pops into their head, it must be put out there for everyone to hear.

Would these women be getting the attention they are if their husbands hadn't died on 9/11? - NO. Would these women get this much attention if they were supporters of Bush? - NO. To me they are exploiting the death of their husbands and that is the point Ann is trying to make, from my understanding anyhow. But this kind of thing happens every day in this country.

One thing though OAR. And this applies to everyone who puts themselves in the public spotlight. By putting yourself out there do you also not open the door to public criticism? I would suggest that these women should have expected someone to call them on this sooner or later. It's like the Dixie Chicks saying what they did then condemning anyone who criticized them. Their point of view was free speech. Anyone not agreeing was a biased redneck hick. They don't get it to this day.

I did catch Ann on O'Reilly radio the other day. He repeatedly gave her the chance to take back her comments, but she wouldn't. He did not agree with what she did (ie a personal attack on these women).

Analyst, I agree that the women are open to criticism. I just believe that Coulter crossed the line of common decency when making her statements about the NJ women. I also agree that if these women supported Bush then Coulter would have no problem with anything they have done. By the way, the women were also critical of the Clinton administration when it came to preparedness for terrorist attacks.

Goodwill, I get that the democrats are trying to wash their hands of Jefferson. That's not the point. You said that democrats get a free pass when they have done something wrong. I am merely pointing out that Jefferson is not getting that free pass.

LOS ANGELES -- "Tonight" host Jay Leno might want to consider wearing referee stripes on Wednesday's show when Ann Coulter and George Carlin are his guests.

Coulter, the acid-tongued conservative with a new book out, and Carlin, the quick-witted, antiestablishment comedian who's in the voice cast for the new animated film "Cars," were booked at separate times for the NBC late-nighter, a spokeswoman said Monday.
