Jr High to Varsity is definitely a big change, but success in Jr High is generally a good indicator of future success. I know two guys that went 23-0 back about five years ago in there 8th grade seasons and immediately had success in varsity. One ended up with 112 varsity wins ;) and the other with 99. And neither one of them came in at 103 so I would definitely say that he will be successful in varsity, right off the bat.
Oldham is already at 103 and won a the CT tournament over the weekend. I'm surprised that he made 103. But I guess since it's his senior year he must believe that 103 is the only weight he might be able to make it to states at.
I would like to see Ripple wrestle Houston Klotz the first year kid from NBC....he is looking good....I would like to see him get to 103 but Phillip Studli is there and is looking to rip up!!!! (phillip was pinned by the Jr. High 75, and 80 lbers......pretty funny stuff, Tommy Ripple will eat Studli!
It's a L O N G year. He must be huge. If he can hold it, he should do well. His technique is average, but he should be big. It will be interesting to see size vs. technique. Hummm, I pick technique, but what do I know.
Yes, I agree with you Dep. But you also have to count in the experience Oldham has on Ripple. Oldham has a good bit of varsity experience. I'd have to give him the edge over Ripple.
oldham started at the end of the wrestling season last yr and watched his wight so he could make 103 it was not a last minute thing. Brandon will be evry strong there and will def. make it to states this yr and he has the edge over tommy bc this is his 4th yr varsity.
