Little faith in Gregory Polanco or expecting TS to finally have the season expected from him as a former first round draft pick?

The trade makes little sense to me but I do think TS will be easily replaced.

He will be remembered more for getting hit than he will be for his hitting.

Travis Snider will have a nice year in Baltimore. Found his confidence and that porch in Camden Yards made McClouth look like a 30/30 guy. Couple Sniders "lunch pale" attitude with Buck.... It's going to be a year long in the making, and have out of work scouts in Toronto saying, "I told ya so"

I was always a Snider fan, but I don't think it hurts the team all that much.

A guy like Andrew Lambo better not go 0 for Spring Training again, because he's next man up in that role.

I've been pulling for Polanco since A ball, but he really tailed off after the league all saw him the first time. If he picks it up again, great! TS was that steady spare guy you could throw into any OF spot on any given day. Like mentioned, there are/ will be other guys that can be tossed into that role. I just happened to like his team ethic. Not sold on Lambo yet either.

TS was hardly steady. He sucked for all but a month or two last year.

That said, this trade makes no sense.

My only working theory is.... Against a lefty pitcher they stick JHay in RF and let Kang start at third against left handed pitching.

And obviously against right handed guys, they want Polanco taking all of the ABs possible.

Obviously that's just me talking out loud trying to figure out, my other theory is that the Orioles 15th best prospect was some kind of steal that they really liked, which again is pretty out there. But I think the trade involved Kang getting more playing time out of it somehow.

But what about having a left handed bat on the bench?

Lambo? I'm not sure what their plan is.

I don't think Jay Hay will be playing a lot in RF. He will be our 3B. Kang will be a utility guy, and Sunday starter. Let's remember he's never faced near the quality of pitching that he will this year. Also remember that Polonco has only had less than 300 career at bats. Let's not call this guy a flop just yet. He will be fine.
