Re: Scrimmages
How about week 2? I heard PC looked ok vs BC and Blairsville and CC got beat down by the young Trojans. Any other reports? How 'bout FH/McCort, Som, Westy, CH, etc...

Wow!!! 19 kids. That could be an all time record for one week of practice. Johnstown must run one tough camp.

Re: Scrimmages
Cambriaalum to answer your question da heights did well against westmont.. there first drive they seemed unstoppable however their defense didnt do so hot..after the first drive westy shut them down the rest of the way, but good drives by the heights..

Re: Scrimmages
Although "well" is a relative term I'm going to say that's pushing it. Heights moved the ball on its first drive. Westy moved the ball at will all night. Heights has no line play either way. They didn't even attempt a dropback pass and ran nothing but rollouts and sprintouts. They're going to score points with Vescovi, Priester and Stanek but I'm going to guess they might give up 400 points this year starting with about 56 Friday night. All that said, they are still better this year than last year and Coach Myers has a nice sophomore class to work with.Footballfan4 wrote:Cambriaalum to answer your question da heights did well against westmont.

Re: Scrimmages
Hard to tell how good both teams were. Both had good plays. FH had a hard time running the ball but passed well against BM. BM looked solid running the ball.
Overall I'd have to give the nod to FH.
Too bad we wont see these teams play this season!

Re: Scrimmages
FH did have a hard time running other than the 65 yard sweep. Got a nice lead block and out ran the secondary.
Re: Scrimmages
Wonder if McCort can once again beat the curse and beat Carrol in the playoffs :?

Re: Scrimmages
Dont get me wrong, I think BC is Top 5 LHAC but they are one broken leg here or one bad juke there from having serious depth problems...
Not to mention its Week 1, leave the playoff talk for later!
(After last season, I only have one game decided by more than 2 TDs)
FH-Som
Should say just how wide the talent game shall be this year. Or maybe it will say how ready Somerset is to back up last years season. Either way I see the Rangers on top in this one.
FH by 14
CC-BC **Game of the Week**
Should be a great show down in Ebensburg(h)!! Featuring possibly the 3-4 teams in the LHAC this season. Interesting to see how many Yards Julock will run up this year and just how ready CC is to find similar success as last year...
BC by 1 in OT
PC-Richland
Another interesting matchup. Ive been hearing good (even Great) things about the Rams passing attack. I think if PC can run the ball and keep whatever it is Richland is going to throw at them on the sidelines, it should be a "W".
PC by 6
BG-WH
Another good matchup between 2 pretty even teams. Both teams have a lot to prove after losing some key players from last season. This one will be won in the trenches..trenches I think Westy may own.
WH by 3
BM-CH
BM will run over, through, and around any and all Highlanders, should be over at half.
BM by 28
Jtown-Bedford
Might get ugly. Althought Jtown isnt outstanding this year, the Bison certainly arnt. Jtown has the athletes to run away with it. I think Bedford will be able to build from this game..
Jtown by 14.
Cant wait!
(guess this doesnt really go under scrimmages)

FH-Som
FH shows some early offensive output
FH by 21
CC-BC **Game of the Week**
BC wins in both trenches and in the skilled positions.
BC by 7
PC-Richland
Do not feel Richland is going to pass all over PC, but feel they will do just enough, slipping away with a victory.
Richland by 7
BG-WH
BG's offense has a big day, with the QB leading the way.
BC by 10
BM-CH
CH not quite ready to make the jump.
BM by 21
Jtown-Bedford
Speed will be enough
Jtown by 14.
