Nobody is doubting that the winner of the NCAA tournament finals is the National Champ. But should the team that loses in the finals be #2 in the country in the final polls? Should the teams that make the Final 4 be ranked 1,2,3,4 in the final season ending top 25 poll???? You've GOT to consider how the teams did during the season to help determine the final top 25. Let's say for example that Tyler Hansborough sprains his ankle during the ACC Tournament and can't play in the NCAA Tournament. What, then, happens to NC if the injury causes them to lose in round #2? Should they NOT be considered for the Final Top 10 because they didn't do well in the NCAA Tournament? And getting back to the SAT's. Aren't most colleges and universities placing LESS importance on them nowadays? Seems like colleges are placing more credence in a student's high school career, not some final test. AGAIN, the Tournament is a factor, but you CAN'T ignore what teams did for FOUR months during the season.

How many times in college football have the 2 teams that played in the Championship game finished 1..2 in the polls for the final rankings? And how often has another team leapfrogged teams in the rankings after they played in a lower tier bowl?

I dont believe you should rank teams according to how they were beat (or finished) in the NCAA tourney. Then I guess the NIT WIT fans are content with being # 66! Since they didnt make the real tournament but won the 2nd rate tourney. Or are the nitters content with just saying we won the NIT?

I now hear psu fans (not on this site) saying they should be #2 cause they beat MSU. Go figure...
