Have you ever been to a Westmont home game? I'm not sure what homecourt advantage you're thinking of, but there isn't one... The hilltoppers had a great student section in 07, so I guess all they have to do this year is go 29-1!

Richland is terrible. Johnstown is terrible. Central Cambria is going to run train on everyone.

I'm not going to get into who is the best coach or coaching staff in the LHAC. I actually believe that despite the lack of success this area has had in the state playoffs our coaching is pretty solid.

I will make the statement that Dave Roman has yet to have a loosing season besides his first year coaching at Vo-Tech. That would be 10 plus years with a winning record. There is something to be said for that, numbers don't lie. I also believe coach Hollern of BM and coach Close at Somerset has done a great job. Very consistent through out the years.

I think one of the best coaches in the LHAC and in District 6 for that matter, is coaching on the girls' side...Hint: He coached a successful boys' program at the same HS where he is now the head girls' coach...His initials are Bruce Frycklund...

Can you say: Sideline break?

How about a list of coaches in the area (D5 or D6) that lead their team to a state final. Boy or girls.

Who coached Altoona boys in 91?
Drew Frank from State College in 03
Johnstown 05
Westmont girls 05, 06

Fuschiano(spelling) was the Johnstown coach, but don't kid yourself some of you guys couldve coached that team to hershey.

Jody Hilleglass was the Westy coach, pretty much the same deal there too

I have to disagree with your statement of the coaches. Yes you need great players to win in the playoffs but you also need great coaching. During their run, both teams had both.

You may want to add Mark Moschella to you list because he not only has been to a state title game (I believe 6 times), he has won 3 of them. I can't think of any other active coaches that have played for a state championship (Taneyhill, Gongloff, and Appleman are three that come to mind who are retired).
