I have seen both.

Recent BA scores scare me. Glendale, JV, and MU all put points on the board against them.

Portage has scored 449 points this year and they've only allowed 47.

Take a look at page. You can say WeakPac all you want, but all four teams remain as the four spots available in District 5 A. They beat them all. In District 6, Blacklick remains. They beat them too. I really don't think you guys realize how good this team is.

Formidable opponents-
They demolished Ridge.
They destroyed Windber.
They were up 27-7 on Township before allowing a late TD with less than :30.
They beat Berlin 54-0. This Berlin team just got by Everett 21-20. That is the same Everett team that hung with Bellwood.

All the ICC teams besides Bellwood and Mt Union are out. I don't feel like they were all that great this year as a conference.

Portage is an absolute machine guys. I have seen Bellwood and Portage both. I hope we see in two weeks and it plays out. Portage is the team to beat in this one for sure.

Hogan, they are not better than the 2000 team.

we'll see soon enough. Question is, will the smack talkers comeback and eat crow next week if it is cooked for them? Hayes has been known to fry up some tasty crow.(or Mustang in some cases)
BTW- It is really hard to compare teams, but this BA team is way more balanced than the 2000 team, don't know if they are better, but they throw and run well, the 2000 team was more one dimensional.

My guess is Bellwood and Portage are even up. I have not seen Bellwood play this year, but the coaching staff might be the best staff in the area. They will take away what Portage does well for sure. I watched some of the Portage highlights on their facebook page and they are very, very good. Sinosky will be a good Division II player in college. This is a compliment BTW. Very good player. If Portage played Penn Cambria's schedule they would be 7 - 3. Losses to Mccort, Johnstown, and Forest Hills in my opinion. For a school that graduates about 60 kids, they are awesome. I would pay money to watch the Bellwood, portage game. Both these teams will put up a fight against BM, but Bellwood would have a better chance of an upset IMHO

I think Portage would beat Richland. They would hold the ball forever becasue of the running attack. If BM laid 70 on Richland, Portage could score 45.

pudge, perhaps on a year in and year out basis I would agree. However, this is a once a generation team for Portage. Although, certainly depth could become an issue if there were some injuries. I guess we'll see in the next couple of weeks. Should be fun euther way
