Folks........some info on Shubik......
I subscribe to all the recruitniks books....some of you should be familiar with these publications....
Tom Konchaski....HSBI has Shubik listed as a 3star plus (Midmajor)
Brick Oettinger has him as a solid mid major and says he is an "intriguing prospect"
PrepStars Mag: Best of the Rest (#100-300 seniors)
SportingNEws: HOnorable Mention
He made the orange-white game at Pitt3 at Five Star
MCcauley is widely regarded as best in Western PA.
Wpial Titan: You need to see this kid play: He is way, way better than bowman, and these guys (Konchaski, etc.) even have him ahead of all of those WPIAL guards, including Revis. I think he and Revis went h2h once in the summer(Solon in Akron) , wasn't there and don't have the stats, but if anyone knows please post it.
At the beginning of the Summer, he was even ahead of Walker of Trinity, but apparently Walker had a better summer. Although Penn State is a low major right now too.
I've heard he has had some problems with his back dating back to the summer, and that is why some schools dropped out and why he was/is considering prep school.

I have seen Shubik play a couple times. I am between where you and WPIAL~Titan are with this guy. As for your recruitnik books....okay, but I respectfully disagree. I would no way put him ahead of Reavis....whole different level of athleticism...I would, unlike W~T place him with or even slightly above DiMichele of Sto-Rox.
Mid-Major Div. I...nah....possibly...and I stress possibly low-I in my book, solid II. I'm not a "recruitnik" but I did at one time do some work for some scouting services, colleges, and Metro Index when they were the 5 Star camp of their time (80's)

Do you remember Paul Holzshu, one of the the guys who used to own Metro Index? He's an acquaintance of mine.
Again, I saw Shubik place one time and that was in an AAU tourney last spring. He's a good player, for sure, but mid-major? I think not. First of all, I see or hear of no mid-majors offering him.
I actually was shocked to see Bauman receive a D1 (even a small D1) ride. I see Bauman as a major project who will definitely need a redshirt, unless Albany is really hurting for players. I see Bauman and Shubik similar athleticism-wsie, but Bauman is a much better shooter/scorer and Shubik has a bit better handle.
At this point, if DS has no solid D1 full ride offers, I'm reluctant to think any will be forthcoming. Maybe someone knows something I don't and can post it. I do think DS would be a "good get" for a PSAC school.
At either level DS would have to be a pg unless he can drastically improve his outside shooting.

drew is almost definitely going to a prep school to boast his opportunity to play at a high quality D1 school.....he is a much better player then bauman...bauman can only shoot, he has D3 handle, and he won't be a scorer at the collegiate level....drew has faced dimichele in head to head action several times idk what the scores of the games where but drew posted better stats.....drew has faced revis head to head once and i cant remember exactly but i think shubik had around 25 to 30 points on him compared to 15 or 20 by revis...revis's points were scored more physically then the way shubik scored his by using skill.

Shubik/Revis

Shubik is an outstanding high school player for the District 5/6 area. He is averaging 20-something a game and probably could average much more. The competition he faces night in and night out in the WestPac is very inferior to what Revis faces in District 7.
Shubik is a very heady player with very good skills. His biggest weakness that will keep him from playing at a high-level D1 or even a mid-major, is his foot-speed. Shubik is a step slow and would have great difficulty in defending anyone at the division-1 level.
Revis is and incredible athlete with great basketball skills as well. The thing he has that Shubik doesn't, is great quickness. That is what seperates these two athletes.
If I am Shubik, I get advice from two former District 5 athletes; Eisentrout and Byer. Take the free-ride at a great Division 2 program and school. Stay home and play at Pitt-Johnstown.
