Do you know how absurd that sounds? So in comparing Big East and Big Ten college football conferences, the Big Ten should have more teams in the top 25 because they have more teams in their conference, not because they are good???????? Nice theory. So Sagarin has placed 13 Big East teams in his top 70, and only 6 Big Ten teams in his top 70, BECAUSE THERE ARE MORE BIG EAST TEAMS!!!!!!! What about that Big Ten drought from 21st place to 50th place. That's 30 rankings WITHOUT a Big Ten team. That's alot isn't it?

Unlike the Big East, the Big Ten doesn't let basketball powerhouses (and only basketball powerhouses) into its conference. Therefore, one should expect a lot of teams in the RPI top 50 from the Big East. Congrats on being the only person who is a big enough dork to look up Penn State's Sargain rating.

Name calling. The first sign of frustration. Hey, I just thought of something. Maybe the Big Ten wants a 12th team because, according to abpk, the more teams you have in your conference, the better they will be ranked. Forget how good they are, it's a quanity thing. AND since abpk thinks the Big East should have "alot of teams in the RPI top 50" compared to others, is he admitting that the Big East is the better basketball conference of the two?

I can tell that really offended you with the dork comment considering you brought in up in another thread. Unlike you bozos, I will admit when a conference I am not a fan of is successful. The Big East is a very, very good basketball conference. My point is if other major conferences go out and cherry picked the best programs and bring them to their conference just for basketball, then they would be pretty dang good as well.

Cherry picking the best teams for their conference???? Maybe you need a lesson in the history of the Big East. The Big East was formed as primarily a basketball conference in 1979, with the following teams as initial members: Providence, St. Johns, Georgetown, Syracuse, Seton Hall, Connecticut and Boston College. Villanova joined the conference in 1980, creating an 8 team conference. In 1985 Pitt joined the conference. That same year Penn State applied for membership and was rejected by a 5-3 vote. Years later Miami, Temple, Va Tech, WVU and Rutgers were admitted mainly for football, with the inaugural BE football conference launched in 1991. WVU and and Rutgers ere football members only until 1995. Va Tech was football only until 2001. Temple football only until was left out of the league in 2004. Notre Dame showed up as a non-football member in 1995 and remains independent in football... Now, in 2003 Miami, Va Tech and BC bolt to the ACC. They are replaced by Louisville, Cincinnati, South Florida, Marquette, and DePaul. Since 2003, only Louisville and Marquette have been big time programs. WHERE WAS THE CHERRY PICKING???????
