I'm not sure how that works, Pats.
I think Paterno is old and lost his grip on how kids have changed over the years. I dont think his "grand experiment" is failing, and the reason for that are the graduation rates, which are still very high. Penn State, from the outside looking in, is having a strong football program right now. In addition to that, the kids graduate. So from that standpoint, things are fine. Now, there are a lot of kids getting in trouble. How do we rectify it? Have the kids call an assistant coach at 9:00 each night saying they're in bed? I really dont know how to stop it other than the players themselves taking action for eachother. Maybe they dont have enough senior leadership. Maybe theres nothing to do except drink all day. I'm not sure what the answer is to change it, but I dont think you can blame this all on the staff. Those kids have to take accountability, too. Joe has been lenient on kids as well, which has set very poor examples in recent years. I dont know.
