Actually Eastmont is in East Taylor Township (between Prospect and Headricks) and is part of the Conemaugh Valley School District.

thug life, dont know all the details but if thats true thats a shame, have heard something like that before about the board sliding him through like that, even heard that as little as 9 or 10 years ago it was a Richland rule that principals couldn't coach.
Anyone know how really common place it is for principals to be head coaches? Cant think of any in D6 minus Bailey now (although his dad is superintendent which is obviously even rarer and maybe the only one)
WPIAL if you are around, what is is it like in the WPIAL? know a lot of coaches are AD's and the likes.

I havent posted on here in years, just been reading. I have to break a long silence though with this topic.
BIG MISTAKE if this happens. Once this begins, it never stops. Im not sure what the arguement truly is though. Is it academics? Richland ranks very high in academics year in and year out in not just our area, but statewide. Is it football? Richland is starting finally to be taken very seriously in the LHAC after years of nothing. Is it a personal vendetta? Quite possibly. If the latter is the reason, then its all wrong. If anyone can prove the first 2 items I listed to be true, then please post for the rest of us to see, as I must be missing something. I probably watch as much or more high school football than most on this board (Jr. High also), and I get to see quite a variety of teams. If this movement is over bad feelings and playing time, touches of the ball, and other , then beware. I can tell you after a move like this it rarely gets better. Once again, if you can prove me wrong tell me.

for as much as people rag on westy and hype up richland, it should be noted Richland has only beaten westmont 3 times in the past 9 seasons, with westmont last winning in a huge win in the 2008 season.
Speaking of McClaurin(spelling) the former westmont coach who had a pretty good run, did he step down as principal or another position to coach in the mid 2000's? Do not remember the exact situation.

9 seasons, how many coaches, and more importantly...9 seasons is not "recently" when you have been through so many coaches. From Fetz, Skowron, McLaurin and to Glennon, there has been much turnover. (And by the way, all of these gentlemen have been quality coaches). Im not being critical of Westy now, because I believe they have done much in the past few years to stop the coaching/parent situation. I also believe they are heading in the right direction. As an area fan, and someone who has a nephew coming through the RHS system, I just want to see it done the right way. IF there are grounds to do this...then by all means let us know, but if its just PT and disgruntlement among some parents, then just look at Richland's overall record as of late. It speaks for itself, both athletically and academically.
