Is that video of the bleacher argument ready yet? I'd really like to see it... as much as possible.

Had I known it was that easy to shut you up, I would have written it long ago. By the way, are you psyched that you will be getting a bump in your socialist SS payments January 1st?

Well it looks like there's quite the opposition building in Con Twp to the proposed wasting of over $7 million on elementary school. Did you see the readers forum today brigade?
Con Valley and a few others are doing the same thing. instead of CONSOLIDATING with neighbors right down the road and saving taxpayers millions in a time of depression, they are doing the exact opposite. They are trying to preserve their "identities" by sucking the life blood out of taxpayers who they are bleeding for more cash to build new facilities. Many of the people being bled are unemployed or on fixed incomes and have their home as their only significant asset. This is freakin' insanity. The mental midgets who are behind these proposals need to be stopped before they bleed taxpayers out.
It must be genetic. Has to be. I guess this is what you have left when you have a "brain drain".

absolutely nuts.. first they delay the vote on it for 30 days which puts us past the elections, then to take the study of a firm to close down the school in jerome to move them to the middle school to save 120,000 a year and then one month after that took effect hit us with the school is too small and doesnt have the right playground equipment for kindergarten kids and by the way lets put in a assisant principal office that we dont have and build a state of the art gym for those k-5 kids, and what the hell lets puts a million in air conditioning since its 90+ degrees all year in pennsylvania and by the way the hell with your football field well just sent them to play in somerset and richland. petitions going around now and anyone who may be up for election will be booted out, wont even give them the chance to do it, they made it clear what they want.

So the money should be spent on the football field and not on school improvements for the kids?

No, the money should be spent for upgrades that are actually needed. This option has not been thought through. The savings anticipated by closing one school disappear within the new renovations proposal. That is stated in the feasability study (not an opinion) so, not only are they rasiing the taxes(under a loop hole) without a vote, they also will no longer have the savings upon completion of the new additions. As far as the AC goes you might have a couple weeks throughout the summer months that it gets extremely hot. The thought of the spending associated in installing central air is plain out dumb. Take a straw pole of the schools in the area and you will find that the majority, in fact, do not have AC. How did all the kids throughout the past 50 years survive school without AC? One must keep in mind the people making these descisions for the most part have little knownledge of construction projects and it clearly is seen in the decision making process here at the school. Being that this is a football forum I will revert back to saying CT also needs to figure out a way that the kids can actually play the game of football on there own field. My pockets are being drained by the constant traveling for Jr. High, JV and varsity football games, not to mention missing work to make all the games. These teams might be the most traveled teams of any in my memory. Finally, I suggest they play soccer on another field and let the football players play on the FOOTBALL FIELD. Nov 15th School board meeting, should be interesting.

thats not what i said, i said the field has not been addressed and this happens year after year. you can turf the dang thing for 700,000, so im sure it can be FIXED for far less they just spent 2.7 million to put new stands, new track new goal posts and we cant use it, so spend the money so we can. 7.37 million to waste on a school when we already have one is just plain STUPID in today economy, open the elementary back up until the economy recovers, raise the millage a small amount and start putting the money away until its feasable nice way to try and make it look like its all about the football and not the students, but hey, thats what saw oww is here for to twist things

Voucher bill passed the senate last week. CONSOLIDATION IS COMING so this issue will all go away.
The BEST way for Con Twp to play on its own field is to CONSOLIDATE WITH SOMERSET and play on the Somerset field. SPLIT the CT district and send kids to Westy, Somerset or Windber depending on where they live. Windber, Shade and Shanksville merge as do Northern Star, CT and Somerset.
Do this voluntarily or wait for the train to run you down. Cause its a' comin' -- no question about that. And it is LONG overdue. But it wont happen without the teachers union spending $$$$$$$ MILLIONS $$$$$$$$ of dollars it extorted out of its members, on lobbyist fees to try to defeat progress and maintain their death grip on the taxpayers of the Commonwealth. The union has to go too -- but that's for another time.
