OK talking conference realignment there will be 5 big conferences. I fully expect Clemson and FSU and Miami to switch to sec. I think acc and big east will crumble. the one you all have forgotten about is the future mountain West - cusa conference. I fully expect all those schools who said they would join last year to back out and rejoin mwc-cusa. Also I expect byu to rejoin that super conference too. I think upper big east schools like Cincinnati will join big 12.

As for Penn state attendance it was break. Did expect it to go down. Top 3 team in big ten not bad for them. When was the last time Pitt was able to fill up Heinz? Couple cousins go there and they say they
Have a terrible fan base there

....From ESPN article Nov 25th entitled "Penn State's Attendance Down Again":
....PSU's average attendance for 2012 (96,730) was the worst average crowd since the expansion of Beaver Stadium in 2001. That is 5 straight years of decline, since 2007 when they had an average of 108,917. That is a drop of 12,187 since that year. Attendance dropped 9.5% since last year alone. And when you take away the packed house for Ohio State, the average decline of the other games in 2012 was well over 10% in one year. Of course, they had NO home game this year against their arch-rival Michigan State.

The attendance is not always based on one fact people have lives and families and tickets to any college football game is expensive so before you judge Penn State for their attendance think about that.
Also WPIAL Titan Penn State has had more attendance than Pitt almost all season so u can stop bagging on PSU I say this as a fan of any team in PA but for PSU I find it hard to believe that anyone did any more than what the 4 years is for.

But for years on here, when Pitt fans argued about all the other things there are to do during football season, The PSU fans on here pooh-pooh exactly what you said in your opening sentence. NOW, when Penn state attendance is down over 10 %, you tell us there are other things to do on Saturdays in the fall instead of spending the day in State College.

I personaly believe drop is from the scandal. Why wouldn't that scandal turn away some people from the program? I'm a Penn state fan all the way but I fault no one who does not want to support them anymore. Attendance will build slowly again. Bill will start to gain some fans back through loyalty and hard work.

El Moldova u make a great points and I wasn't on here before but still and Konjo yes a good bit of fans are done supporting PSU because of the scandal and I agree with Moldova it was one event and in three years almost all of its affects will be over and Penn State will regain its attendance.
Oh yeah and Bill O'Brien is probably going to stay here to rebuild this team

Isn't that Rutgers team about to head to the BCS.
Tell me about Maryland's win total over the last 10 years as compared to Pitt.
I'm laughing out loud at Rutgers and Maryland watering down the conference Moldo. I guess adding Pitt would have flooded the conference then. Look at 10 years for Pitt, Rutgers, and Maryland. I'm eager to see the numbers.
I wish Pitt fans had as much interest in their own school as they do with PSU and the B10. Pitt probably wishes it too...
S Cube wrote:Kirk come on now. The Big 10 just added a team that got spanked by a below average Pitt team. Great addition? Nope. Definitely a step back for the Big 10. But hey, as long as Northwestern/Purdue 1994 is playing in NYC, it's all good!

I'm a Penn state fan but I firmly believe adding Maryland and Rutgers to big ten is to give Penn state easier division opponents during probation time. That way when 4 years is done one of their top schools still looks strong to recruits
