TM was down something like 28-7 at halftime and came back to lose 34-27. I wasn't there but was told TM played well in 2nd half.

After watching Bedford's girls last night, I'd have to make them slight favorites for the D5-AA title. I think they have enough talent and 'tough' to get it done. If they would have hit some FTs, they might have beaten us at home on Senior Night.

Interesting, random observations of the visiting fans:

I've never heard so much crying about the officials, from fans of a team who spent the entire game at the line. Constant, incessant, "call it both ways", "are they paying you?", "you're costing us the game", etc... Hello?? Two of our players fouled out, and at least three or four others ended with four fouls; Bedford had to have been to the line something close to 40 times. That's not good enough? That's not "both ways" enough? (And, it wasn't the officials that made you miss probably like 25 of them.)

One couple right behind me was too funny. Every other foul brought loud howls of protest that "c'mon, she was going for the ball! you can't call that -- she was going for the ball!!". As if that's not what every player is doing, on every play. Umm -- if you go through another player while trying to get the ball, it's a foul. Despite the noblest of intentions. :D

Nothing more amusing than howls of "call it on both ends" being yelled by fans of a team who's already shooting the double-bonus, as they pick up foul number 6 or 7 of the half.

Well um Thanks im glad u think we have the "ability" to take districts. But there was alot of things we could have done in the long run to maybe win. About the refs. Now im not one to blame stuff on the refs but i think the call it both ways thing could have went for centrel and Bedford. Even though both teams were on the line ALOT there was stuff that wasnt called for centrel and stuff that wasnt called for Bedford. Centrels basketball team did a ton of good things though. Number 43, our post players just didnt know how the guard her. She did just about everything.Congrats Seniors and good luck the rest of the season!

Addendum: (I actually have the box score, now.)

My estimates weren't too far off. Bedford got to the line 38 times, despite several front-end misses. They made 17 of them.

By contrast, we went to the line 29 times, which included the normal handful at the end of a close game when the trailing team needs to foul to stop the clock and get the ball back.

Every visiting team should get 'homered' so bad... :)

Uh, ok.

So, if the game were officiated fairly, what? We'd only have gone to the line maybe 10, 15 times? Any you'd have taken what, 55, 60 free ones?

These fans weren't looking for fair, balanced officiating. They were crying because they wanted the officials to give Bedford a game they weren't good enough to take on their own.

Or, did we win on your floor earlier this year because of the officiating, too?

Give me a break.
