I'm not an umpire. I haven't played or been around organized baseball in 10+ years. I go to see good games. LHAC, Westpac, AAABA (FINALLY get to see them this year). Doesn't matter. Just moved back to the area and just enjoy going to good ball games.

The downer is some of these same umpires will be working those AAABA games. For even better money.

More $$$, less accountability? Sounds like a political position.

Chirneski, Oppaguard, Holsopple, Shinew, Zimmerman, Theys, Oaks. Yeah there isn't many, but don't allude that the're aren't ANY Corey. You are more than welcome to get ur badge. Until you've walked a mile in someone's shoes don't judge. We are all getting sick and friggin tired of 85% of your posts ripping officials (mostly umpires). If u got the guts write an article on it.
LMFAO!!!!! Sorry pal, but these guys don't qualify as good umpires. Just because they have been doing it for a hundred years doesn't mean jack. Bruce Holsopple is probably about the worst umpire in District 5,6,7 or 9. Shinew and Oppegard are definiely slanted towards Somerset County teams. And Theys, Zimmerman, Chernisky, give me a break!
PS - Read a little closer pal... if you still think I am a sports writer from the trib then you must have problems.

Watched D6 finals (A,AA,AAA, and AAAA) and saw some good games, however after reading these posts I come to figure it out that Goisovich and his side kicks didn't get any of the finals. I've been following baseball in this area for 30 years and this guy has ruined the AAABA league and umpires and now looks that he bombed the piaa in this area. I saw one regular
season game this year and Goisovich his puppet Debouse and two others worked a four man crew. Thats right four man! and nonetheless they stunk it up. Do us a favor Goisovich, by look at one these pics on a orevious post where you are standing with Debouse, you need to hang it up! Debouse, look into it too, give it up! You ruined the fun!

For all those who enjoy a "good laugh"...As usual I was attending the bedford legion home game. They played host to Somerset that night and the hurricanes were batting. No runners on, and I think it was #25 from the home team that was batting. It was later in the game and bedford was winning something like 11-2 (not sure if that had something to do with the call on the field?) but anyways the young man crushed one back up the middle, he really smashed this ball!!! The ball struck the rubber of the mound. This was clear by the sound that was made and the dirt flying and also the pitcher being completely off to the side. the ball was airborne a few seconds and in that time the coach was yelling "catch it in the air!!". The somerset player caught it in the air, and tried for the out but threw it out of play. As #25 approached second base the Somerset coach confronted the umpire. It was clear that he was making a claim that the ball ricocheted off the kid's foot and the second baseman caught it. At this time the pitcher started to act hurt. ( I dont blame the coach or the player for trying to talk them into it) So he was talking him into it. And at this time I had noticed that long time Bedford coach Dan Baker was in attendance to this game. He was really mad! (as he should've been) He was saying how you can not turn a call into an out which is true. The umpires met, walked to the pitcher, examined his ankle for some reason, and had somehow came to the conclusion that it hit the pitcher. So after the crazy turn of events #25 was called out after a well deserved base hit and one of the craziest situations I've seen in a baseball game.

I think sometimes they make mistakes just like everyone else. In my opinion it's impossible for a 2 man umpiring crew to successfully do a game
