Not being there in person and just watching on film i didn't get to see much of what happened after plays were over...like what penalties were called for whatever reasons. i did see one legit late hit on PM...but besides that i can't really comment on how bad or good the officiating was except to say that there were two legit penalties overlooked by the officials on the last play...not to mention that in my opinion the play should have never gotten run in the first place...most officiating crews wont even allow the center over the ball in those situations until the whistle is blown...no way you can get a snap off in one second. With that being said...kudos to PM for taking advantage of the situation and absolutely TERRIBLE defense on Liggys part.

I was there and trust me it was insane. If you get the IUP channel the game will be on either tues or wed night. Then it will be on the heritage conference website "by Friday" IUP does a good job filming these games. Or go to MSA sports and replay the radio broadcast. The announcers were rougher on the officials than I am. Bad officiating is something you live with in HS sports. But when it gets to the level of that game the PIAA needs to step in with this crew.

Is the game linked online yet?

If you want an unbiased view, yeah they probably shouldn't have got that last play off but it was only fitting that Pm did... They did have a few legit personal fouls but then again they had a lot that shouldn't have been and led to lv scores... In the end it was a great game and despite the calls pm won.. Everything probably evened out

Bloom is a good athlete, he is 6-7 and you cannot teach that. But he runs poor routes and doesn't play physical. D-I isn't the Heritage Conference. I think he is better served playing basketball somewhere. I can see taking a flier on him with his size and footwork he could be a commodity as an offensive tackle eventually. I think folks around here tend to under estimate exactly what it takes to play D-I football.

I wish the kid nothing but the best and I hope that he proves me wrong, it would be great to see a local kid do well at that level. But I see a 6-7 kid rounding off routes and a QB throwing it up and he catches it. No one in the conference is big enough to press him. When you get to college and 6-5 DE's are smacking you in the face and they run as fast if not faster than you then we will see if he can make the transition

I haven't seen many 6-5 dB's in college or NFL. Haven't really seen many 6-5 wrs either. Heritage conference high school is not a place to learn to be a
Wr. It will be tough for him but he'll improve so much at UConn through better coaching. It'll amaze us all

He would be a TE likely starting out. He will see 6-3 LB's in college who are faster and more athletic than he is, even if you take 6-2 DBs that are great athletes it's different than the typical 5-8/5-11 DBs he is playing against now. I had these same arguments about the Minemyer kid from BC when he went to Rutgers, although Bloom is more athletic than he is.

If you think he is soft why would you suggest to move him to Tackle a much more physical position?

Actually, that isn't always true. Sometimes kids can be finesse type tackles. If you ever saw Zebrie Sanders in high school you would never think he would ever play a down in college. He went to Florida State and became a multi-year starter and had a very solid career. He was then drafted by the Bills. Especially with teams that zone block, you don't need to crush people every play, all comes down to systems.

In reply to all these posts on Bloom...I have had the opportunity to watch this young man play football on several occasions. ..I agree he does round off routes and he needs to run better routes but he never comes off the field and he may run 40 or 50 yards play after play with all the motions and things...but to expect a Heritage conf kid to be a polished route runner and be perfect is crazy...I think he is definitely one of the top 2 players to ever play in the Heritage....Ferens being the other...you can't coach 6'7 that moves really well...also, it really doesn't matter what any of us think about him....obviously there are several Division 1 schools that like him and that's all that matters...
