The only real people crying major foul now is portage/westpac fans. You guys lost to a better team, a team that is usually much less successful than portage football. If BG is such a huge recruiting school that cheats for football why is this their first finals since early 90s?

It is funny that you are saying westpac fans are the only ones crying because this is a predominately westpac fan based website. This has been a statewide argument for years. Nothing will change because the private schools will whine and fight for their rights, but now that the public schools, who are true and real competitors who do not have the luxury to pull from whoever they may, are actually rightfully so arguing they are the bad guys? No an shame on you for even hinting at that

Amen. Crying Recruiting helps Portage fans sleep at night. Not one kid on BG's roster played for any other varsity program. They all are SYSTEM kids and played at the Altoona Parachioal Schools. They are well coached very athletic and like what was just stated, if they recruited why is this the 1st championship game in 22 yrs.

it's the same thing every time with you guys, the word recruit never came out of any of our mouths. What we are saying is since they are so good why don't we move them up to double or triple a where they belong.

Very simple....because that's is NOT where they belong. The enrollment is A so they should play A. If you are not claiming they recruit and the enrollment is what it is then I suppose there is nothing left to discuss!!

Maybe Portage should consolidate with Forest Hills or Penn Cambria and move up to AAA. They wouldn't have to deal with any Bishops.

Either Aoki is under 15 years old or one of the most childish adults in the history of bleachercoaches...Portage lost to a better team, let's get over it and move on to discussions on the teams playing.

Maybe it's time for coach to clean up this trolling much like he did in the college/pro sports forum.

Great, so y'all claim that only inner city schools and catholic schools can compete. I listed just three of quite a few schools that compete and just because they haven't won a WPIAL championship in a while, means I'm wrong. Y'all should be rooting for a school like Clairton, our enrollment is only 95, and shrinking, and we're competing against schools nearly double our size and still plugging out athletes. If a parent from Clairton has the money to send their kid, that happens to be a stud athlete to Serra Catholic, I say more power to them. Y'all act like Catholic schools are cheap. The tuition is like 6-7K a year, which is a 24-28K four year investment. Should Serra Catholic and Geibel Catholic have to jump up a Class simply because they're Catholic schools? I think not. They barely survive playing the current competition they do now.

What's your excuse on SCA's dominance of D4? They're not an inner city school... How bout Dunmore, and Riverside? They have eerily similar demographics to your typical D6 public school. They just have kids that buy into their systems and play their roles.

The only league I can understand people really complaining about private schools is out east in dealing with the Philly Catholic League plus charter schools like Imhotep. Imhotep has a college sized offensive line competing in 2A. Quite frankly, unless they beat themselves, I don't see a 2A school staying within 20-30 of them.

I believe a couple of yrs ago Southern Columbia got in trouble for recruiting which is why they been out early in the playoffs, that's when the whole it's ok for private schools to get to pick and choose from other school zones but it's not ok for us started

Dunmore similar to our demographics???? Dunmore high school is a short walk off North Washington ave, SCRANTON. It essentially is in Scranton. I worked part time for 6 years and drove by the high school everyday on my way to work. They are essentially an city school, just a smaller area city school.
