There was video on the save Laurel Valley facebook page. Where, then AD, Brett Miller asked the coaches what conference they wanted to play in. It went around the room with each coach saying Heritage or Laurel Highlands. Every coach just said what their preference was except Beitel throws in 100% Heritage. If they would have moved to the Laurel Highlands the never would be better than 5-5 and he knows it. He's not stupid. He's a coward. He plays the schedule he begged for. He got 100 wins this year. How many of those are him being a AA team playing schools that he had at least 100 more available boys to pick from. At that level even 1 player can make a difference. Look at Homer when Newhouse went down. There is no one outside of Ligonier that thinks Beitel is a good person or coach.

The one thing that that really shows ignorance is when facts are almost never used by the haters on this site. Can any of you haters actually tell the whole entire Bleacher Coaches world how many students Liggy had walk across the proverbial stage at graduation this past year?

KMR-

I agree but would also include TM-Smith on that list. They are having a great year. I think they have a real chance against Berlin this week also.

You guys that spout off on here about coaches and people you don't even know are just plain old turds...first of all Beitel got win number 60 this year...not 100, like previously stated by some clowns ignorance....also, Liggy has been single A for 4 of the 10 years he has been head coach...Liggy went 9-0 as a Single A program on 2007...and last, Liggy is very close to single A as we speak....If not for counting the cyber school and charter school children in the district Liggy would be under double A by 40 some kids...know your facts before you open your mouths...I know Roger Beitel personally, he does great things for his players on and off the field...He has helped many players move on to the next level in education and in football...There are currently 7 young men playing college football this fall that graduated from his program...

ok I was wrong about the 100 wins. I didn't realize that in the great Ligonier football history that it only took 60 wins to be the all-time winning est coach. He wouldn't have 60 wins if they played in the Laurel Highlands were enrollment wise he would be middle of the pack. And every school has to count cyber and home schooled, not just ligonier. The PIAA evens out the classes into 4 fairly equal divisions by numbers. 2 years ago there were 45 AA schools with lower enrollement, than ligonier, in the state. so those schools or some single A schools in the state will have to gain kids for Ligonier to drop to A. We will see where the new numbers are shortly. They should be coming out soon.

How many students that graduate doesn't matter. How many 9,10,11 th grade school students, home school, cyber boys you have. All are able to play football and all schools have to count them.

We all understand how enrollment figures are calculated. But realistically, we can only count how many graduate because those are the numbers that are easily available (newspapers, school board minutes, etc.)....cyber/charter numbers are not easily obtained. Additionally, cyber/charter students are not going back to their so called home schools to play a sport.

We want you or others to state how many students Liggy graduated last year?
