You should of seen our effort after going up 14 - 0 on Berlin on Friday...We'll just be nice and say it was very lackluster.

Moshannon Valley-West Branch game will finish Monday. What's the point? Kinda sucks for MV with a short week before playoffs.

The heritage conference may be a bit down compared to years past. However, I believe Blairsville has a team with a lot of potential. They fit the number 2 seed role well as BG is and should be the 1 seed. Theyve played a difficult schedule and are a clear favorite for 6A. That being said... It is the playoffs and we all know how the past few years have gone

There are some other good teams out there this season as well.. BA and Portage will be tough. PM and HC are a bit knicked up but returning players can make a difference. Williamsburg had a nice game last week and is playing well at this point. It's the best time of the year... Should be fun to watch

Portage Pride,
Please understand that seven days prior to Redbank playing Blairsville they played an 8-0 team and their offense produced 614 passing yards. That was more yards than any other High School football team in the history of Pennsylvania Football. They were held to 74 passing yards the next week vs. Blairsville. That is not my opinion, those are facts. When you are looking deeper into your facts be sure to include that one.

Blairsville has a solid team with a good defense but not sure if they can stay with BG but though Redbank Valley would give Blairsville a better game, they are 10-0 for a reason. I guess all team have a shot in the playoffs let the games begin and we will see how it plays out? Good Luck to all.

BG is not a finesse team. They are a power team up front. I don't see Blairsville or anyone challenging them in D6.

I would hope they are a power team. Blairsville proved what happens to record breaking finess teams last week. I was able to see BG play McCort a couple of weeks back and came away with the opinion that Blairsville has an answer for all of their skill players but they do not have a player like Burger (sp?). He will pose a problem but they match up everywhere else. I think if this game happens it will be much closer then everyone thinks. And remember, it really doesn't matter what any of us think, it only matters what the 42 band of brothers in Blairsville helmets think!!!!! The one strength they have that BG will never have is a bond that has been forged since 1st grade. This team is not assembled. If you guys in this forum have ever played on a true team where you are playing for each other you know what I am talking about and how powerful that is.

Except for the fact that the BG kids have all been playing together since starting in the parochial league as fourth graders. Every one of them. I'm not trying to get in to the entire public/private thing because that is well worn ground on this forum. However, BG's team has not been "assembled". Chadbourn, McCloskey, Berger, Kitt, Wolf, etc ...all of them came out of the same elementary parochial school so if they were assembled it happened when they were 9 or 10. In any case, I know as soon as a team loses to BG this will be the first thing that is said because it seems in society today it's easier to try and bring another team down than to credit them for their work ethic, committment, and talent.
I'm sure Blairsville has a fine team and all this will be settled on the field. However, to call BG and "assembled" team is just not accurate. Now, if this were girl's basketball at BG, I'd be the first to say you have a point. I just think it's important to be accurate and not paint an every team at a school with a broad brush because of what has happened in only one of their programs.

According to District 6 BG Football will have to answer the "assembly process" of their current team come January. It has nothing to do with society with me my man. It is a shame it can't be done sooner if they did in fact violate any rules in acquiring Penn Cambria kids this season. The Roster any private school has works hard and functions as a team. You will never hear me say anything other than that. What I will also say is private schools are permitted to "assemble" their student athletes in a different way than public schools are permitted. Even when they are following rules it is different. I have coached and played for good and bad teams throughout my many years in athletics and have never used an excuse for winning or losing. Please don't use that same broad brush you accused me of using when judging me.
