If you can't score you can't win. Their offense is going to take a hard hit losing two D1 kids.

I think bg, portage, bellwood and penns Manor are the favorites right now. We'll find out next year if it was talent or coaching that carried bg (or both)

TheBigH wrote:As far as the Heritage goes, Penns Manor in D6A will have a real shot at winning a down-conference next year. They played tough all year, and were mostly sophomores. Their biggest challenge will most likely come from Ligonier, who will most likely make playoffs but be handed a 1st round exit (again).
Blairsville loses both Robinson and Thompson. As well as WR Cameron Livingston who played well on defense, and DL Jacob Smith.
HC loses McAdoo, Lee, and Berezansky (4 YR Starting QB), as well as what I'm pretty sure some were some really solid lineman.
PL loses Syster, but their line was alright and have another Syster on the roster that will most likely be good (just speculation.)
NC loses a few seniors, including QB/WR Joe Olish who accounted for most of their big plays this season. They don't have much size next year and the new HC situation looks like it hurt the team.
United always has tough kids, hopefully a coaching change can turn them around.
I can't imagine Saltsburg will be good next year, but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
Overall, PM might be the only D6A Heritage team to make playoffs next year and have a decent shot. It will be a pretty down-year for the conference in general, IMO.
New HC Situation???

Crimson's Ghost wrote:If BG has Carroll, Heights, Penn Cambria, Central Cambria, McCort, and Westmont on the schedule - that's probably six wins right there. 6-4 = over .500.
Just looking at next years' schedules, unless some major LHAC shakeup happens, BGCHS loses Richland off the front of the schedule, and picks up Bedford on the backside.

I see the MAC being much improved next year, the staples at the top remain the same Central, Tyrone, Clearfield. The wins won't come as easy though. Huntingdon made the playoffs with a young team and will challenge all 3 next year. Bellefonte is slowly making a come back. Ben Alexander will be back healthy for a middle of the road Penns Valley team. The bottom feeders remain as BEA and Philipsburg. Ridge will also be on the schedule for these teams. Should make for some tested teams come playoff time.

I feel like I'm defending BG to much here but I don't think they'll have QB issues next year. If it the younger Chadbourn he is a heckuva an athlete with great speed. He'll be fine and will make a lot of plays. As I stated before they have two guys back at RB who have seen a good bit of time this year (Yasilitis had a key pick and subsequent impressive TD run vs. Somerset). Combine that with an OL that should be pretty good and I think offensively they'll be fine. Will they be what they are this year? Of course not, but other teams lose seniors and have to replace them with back-ups as well. The upside for them to all the blowouts this year is they've gotten a lot of players many more snaps in games then might normally have been the case. I could be wrong but I'd be willing to wager that barring a lot of injuries they'll win between 6-8 games (only being an underdog vs. Bedford and Somerset). As someone stated earlier on paper it looks like it'll be them, Bellwood, and Penns Manor to possibly battle it out for district supremacy. Who know though, a lot can happen between now and next fall.

To you guys discussing BG, I'd point out that before this season started Clearfield, Tyrone, and Central all had questions at QB. If you play team ball, have some talent, and are well coached..... The rest usually works out. BG will be ok.

If you look at the LHAC for next year, the group on top will be Bedford (10-0), Johnstown (9-1) and Somerset (9-1 or 8-2), in the middle group will be Richland (7-3 or 6-4), BG (7-3 or 6-4), and Forest Hills (6-4) with the rest of the teams in the bottom part Penn Cambria, Central Cambria, Cambria Height, Bishop McCort, Bishop Carroll and Westmont. Bedford with everyone back should win the LHAC, with Johnstown close second, remeber that lost their best running back Jones, he should be back and add him to that offense they should be very good. Somerset will be fine with the group running backing back in the backfield and line. BG will be pushing a lot of LHAC teams next year with their group lead by the younger Chanborn and their offensive weapons. Richland will be up this year, played a lot of younger players that got better as the year went on. Penn Cambria will take a step back along with Central Cambria both could finish at (5-5 or 4-6) they do have some good players coming back, but losts some very good players. Bishop McCort, Bishop Carroll and Westmont will be the bottom feeders again. Bishop McCort played a lot of young people but they didn't improve during the season and were poorly coached could finish (3-7) because they lose Forest Hills and get Bishop Carroll schedule. Cambria Heights might be the surprise team in the LHAC could move to (5-5 or 4-6) is bring back alot of players that played both ways and will have a strong running game, will need to improve their passing game for next year.Bishop Carroll will be hard press to finish (2-8) they lost Woo but do bring some players. Westmont willbe Westmont run an offensen from the 1940's with no passing game will be hard press to win a game.

Its not the offense its the athletes. They are not the on wing T type offense around. I was watching the Hickory game from last week and Greenville was the same stack them in and bore you offense. They won a lot of games.
