Right. So whomever pays for it can SWAY the NEWS, and will get his exposure. But the NEWS is not to be bought, or slanted for money. What do you think of THAT concept?

"Lions continue losing ways". Is that one negative enough for ya?

The headline in the Tribune today read, "Maryland Holds Off Penn State". You see, every PSU headline, even if it is a loss, shines a positive light on PSU. There's always an implication that PSU did good. WOW!! PSU must have been CHARGING from behind and Maryland had to "regroup their forces" and do EVERYTHING in it's power to stop the onslaught. At least I'll give the Tribune some credit for NOT quoting Chambers, who blamed the refs for the loss, as was "quoted" on BWI Illustrated. "It was the worst call that I've seen in my entire life".

Crediting them for not writing an article and just picking up the AP version?

And for the matter of exlcuding the quote from Chambers.... if it were a pro-Penn State newspaper, wouldn't they have put it in there? I mean Penn State and Pat Chambers are playing up the anti-PSU conspiracy officiating angle, shouldn't a Penn State newspaper spewing Nittany Lion propaganda run those types of quotes to stir the masses? It wouldn't make sense they would withhold the quote, you know, since they are a biased sports department.

Are you telling me that the Tribune can't DELETE sections of an AP article, especially if they have space constraints? They can take out what they want as long as it doesn't lead to distorting the story as a whole. And yes, BWI Illustrated is a pro-PSU. So you EXPECT them to be biased toward the Nits. BUT isn't it an embarrassment when the PSU head men's basketball coach SLAMS the officials in a post-game news conference? Would the Nits REALLY want that put in a story about their team in a local paper?? The Tribune was doing them a favor. Maybe the Tribune can pick up the story after Chambers is fined.

Many national writers are confirming that Chambers had a legitimate beef with the call and they are saying it was incorrect. Again, a pro Penn State newspaper would want to rally behind the idea that someone like a referee was unfairly wronging the beloved Nittany Lions - not trying to hide it.

Not buying that as an excuse for berating an official BY NAME during Chambers' post-game news conference. He called the ref TOO YOUNG and didn't have enough experience for refereeing in that situation. PLUS he blasted the referees over the foul shot situation. He couldn't believe that the Terps' Trimble shot 12 foul shots (while being a freshman and on the road), while Newbill ONLY shot 5 foul shots, and he was a senior and playing at home. What a cry-baby. I'll be disappointed in the Big Ten if he is not fined for embarrassing his team and his conference.

Fran Fraschilla called out the official on twitter today as did the BTN guys covering the game stating what an atrocious call it was. B1G officiating as a whole has been a hot in-game topic on several networks this season. The Altoona Mirror headline was as I stated, "Lions continue losing ways". Sounds pretty fair to me. But I'm sure it can be twisted however you'd like. Altoona Mirror also did cover the Chambers comments so I guess by your thinking they must be anti-PSU for covering the comments that embarrass the university?

Front page of ESPN.com asks: Worst basketball ref call ever?

Must be more PSU bias...
