It's very, very rare that you don't find Tyrone standing in your way near the end of the road.

As for the AA discussion, Mount Union should be decent again this year. Several starting lineman back, both starting running backs, a WR/TE, and a bunch of players who pitched in last year. The Huntingdon game will be a good barometer of how good we should be this year. Obviously the team speed will not be out of this world like it was last season, but 7-3 or better isn't out of the realm of possibility.

The first apology was sufficient. You're human, and as such, we all get a little impetuous sometimes. Most of us aren't perfect, we're works in progress.

I guess I have been sleeping on this forum. I love this post.. Apparently Central fans have a short memory. Sounds like a Mt Union quote from a year ago. I say not so fast peacock.

Tyrone is going to be young at the skill positions, so if your going to beat them you better do it early in the year. Come playoff time they will be a totally different team. For an offense to score they have to have the football and be able to stop a pounding run game. As far as Central having a great line, they may, I'm not going to argue that. However this will be the same line for Tyrone (-1) that pushed them all over the Cove last year. Tyrone may roll into the playoffs at 7-3 but I wouldn't want to be in there path on the way to Mansion Park.

Huntingdon is the other team on the list of contenders. Lots of returning letterman and probably the most complete back in the area, Jon Wagner. This is another team that you can expect to pound the ball down the field eating that high flying dragon clock.

I am going to roll back the clock 3 years to when these Seniors we last top dogs in 9th grade. It was a hard fought battle with Helsel returning a kickoff and putting the Dragons up 7-6 most of the game. Tyrone gets the ball back with under a minute to go and put a drive together punching in on a corner fade with seconds to go for a Tyrone win. They aren't freshman any longer, but it is always a good match up.

Say what you may, AA always runs through Tyrone and Forest Hills. They are 1&2 for a reason, the kids roll through the program year after year filling the voids of the class before them.

The Huntingdon, Clearfield, Chestnut Ridge and Bellwood games will determine the seeding. For football in this area I hope that gives one of these teams an even seed and one an odd. That is how you fill a stadium in Altoona for a classic

I'm not sure it's actual Central fans doing the talking here.

I have to agree. I haven't saw anyone on here from the Cove doing much talking?

Mount Union should have a very decent season this year. Clearly a lot of talent and speed has been lost but still a lot of young talent returning. Bookwalter and Steel are both returning in the backfield while Pollock will be the main target in the passing game. Defense is where the question marks will be, but a strong front seven could help to mask some of the voids left in the secondary. The coaching staff is also very good in getting the most out of their players and the kids love playing for them. Could sneak up on a few teams come November. Expecting anywhere from 6-8 wins for them this season.

Mount Union seriously, this team was a one trick pony last year, you take away the speed and score from anywhere factor and they are average at best.
