Isn't that similar to the small number of programs in D5, couldn't they just be added to District 6 playoffs?

Yep, and they're spread over 5 different classifications. 1 AA, 3 AAA, 1 AAAA, 1 AAAAA, and 1 AAAAAA.
Districts
It just doesn't make any sense.

But having 4 teams in a district playoff does?

Not at all and we know you like to poke D5 with every stick you can. This is why we play D9 and D10 before D7 now. AA should just merge with D6 for playoffs, but A has more teams than all the other districts but D6, D7, and D9

I wonder how many A schools are in districts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 11.

They should realign districts according to class. They could put the three D5 schools in with 6. Maybe take the A schools, maybe more southern teams into 5 while Northern teams stay 6. Just spit balling here.

It would be so much easier and better if PA did what Ohio does. Each classification is broken into 4 regions not into 12 districts.
In Single A where the majority of small schools are in the west and Central, The Regions would be Southwest, Northwest, Central. and East with the Eastern Region running from Harrisburg to the eastern border. Each of the 4 regions would have roughly 25 teams. The Southwest would be the WPIAL basically, Northeast would be D10, D9, and Central would be D5 and 6. The east would be huge geographically, but you don't need to play everyone in your region during the season. Ohio has a great Play-off point formula that makes ours look like an abacus.
In 6A where the majority of schools are in East. You would have the West Region, Central, Northeast and Southeast. The western region would include the current D7, D6/9, D8, and Even some of D3 Harrisburg Area. Southeast would be Philly and some of D1 would go to the northeast.
This will never happen as the WPIAL will never give up Heinz Field but they wouldn't have to. They could still play a Western Regional final there. I'm sure State College wouldn't mind the trip. Just like in politics special interests really halts progress in our great commonwealth.

I believe Berlin is better coached and will shock a lot of folks in this game or the playoff matchup that will surely follow.
