High school sports is about life lessons hopefully more than winning and losing. What lesson does forfeiting with enough to play teach?

So freshmen aren’t ready for varsity PT. I get it, and been saying it for years now. Maybe they should just let freshmen play JR high instead trying to inflate the varsity roster numbers.
