Re: Crushers crushing
If BM would hire the former JHS coach, as an assistant coach at BM, would his sons be eligible?

If y they do not live in the district and in fact never did Greater Johnstown would appear to have no standing in this case. The Reeds should then be able to join the team of the district in which they reside.Crimson's Ghost wrote: July 11th, 2025, 2:48 pmOne would think.knowitall wrote: July 11th, 2025, 2:41 pm
Wouldn't that be the first line of defense if they did not?
I bet when the PIAA overrules District 6 in a few weeks that will be one of the primary reasons why it does.
The Reeds reside in Westmont, that being said, it seems that if that wasn’t brought up in the initial hearing, it can’t be used at the appeal. Didn’t the article say that only the testimony used in the hearing can be heard by the PIAA?
Regardless, here is a poll for the page: Will the Reeds be students of Bishop McCort and even be living in this state on August 4th?
And if they do in fact move, wouldn’t that prove that it was in athletically motivated after all? Because if it was for academics, they would have stayed put.

Look what instant transferring is doing to college sports. Things are not the same from the standpoint of the fans, the players, and the game itself.

If they do live in the Westmont district, would they be instantly eligible there? You can't expect them to go back to Johnstown where their dad got the shaft, and play for the joker that stabbed him in the back... That isn't just sports, that could be seen as a hostile environment depending upon the circumstances of the situation. Again, they need their own representation. Johnstown is scum for even challenging this after they railroaded Coach Reed.

Kiski Prep is always an option.

Can we stop pretending that it was shocking they didn’t renew his contract? He was 2-29 in his 3 years there and had no control over the team. Would you let kids sit out in street clothes in the first half but then let them play in the second half when the game was close? This is just the tip of the iceberg.Colonel Mustard wrote: July 14th, 2025, 10:06 am If they do live in the Westmont district, would they be instantly eligible there? They seemed to be MILES better than they were under the prior coach. But whatever, if the firing was justified, do you agree with Johnstown challenging the transfer? It seems like a spite move to either punish the dad, the kids, or just a shot at McCort.

2-29 = getting the shaft, that’s crazy. I’m not sure anyone would rehire that coach, no matter how much “better” they they had gotten. To be honest, I’m not sure any coach will be able to fix that situation, which is unfortunate.Colonel Mustard wrote: July 14th, 2025, 10:06 am If they do live in the Westmont district, would they be instantly eligible there? Personally, if I was a school district, I would always contest transfers like this. This one was clearly, clearly, clearly about athletic intent. If anyone says otherwise, they are intentionally trying to be thick.
Re: Crushers crushing
If the Reeds do not live in the Greater Johnstown School District, wouldn't they have to begin paying tuition to attend Johnstown since dad is no longer employed by the school district? If they do live in Westmont, they should play for Westmont. My guess is Greater Johnstown would not contest that. The question is if they do live in Westmont, why would they rather go to Bishop Recruit? To me, that would be the real story.
My guess is they do live in the Greater Johnstown School District.
