HAHA, I don't think Ridge sucks, I just think they don't perform well enough for the competition that they play against being the largest school in the district. Someone should have taken me up on my bet, you're right, I would have lost. Tell me where I've said that "Ridge Sucks". A direct quote. I challenge you to that. I said it was a poorly played ballgame because it was, not because it didn't come close to my points spread. It's just like predicting the weather, sometimes you hit it right on, some times you miss and are still right. I missed, but the overall outcome, I was still right. Ridge didn't do what they needed to do down the stretch to win, neither did Bedford, but what can you do, the blue and white won again...

Yea, had I heard that chant I would have had to chuckle at that. Pretty good stuff to try to get in a kids head. Maybe a rematch in the playoffs???

Yeah it was a good attempt to get in his head I can understand just having some fun. It was nice to see that he didn't listen to it.

Sounds like Bedford just did what needed done to win the game.

Nathan Hauer deserved better. He pitched a good game but didn't get much help from his fielders. I hate to be critical, but suffice it to say there were too many flubs and bad throws on relatively easy plays by too many experienced players. That shouldn't be happening. If a team's gonna beat you, make them do it with their bats. On the plus side for Ridge, Halbig took charge and fielded well in center field.

The Bisons won both games this year, but they don't have a lot to crow about either, though I'm impressed by their sophs.

Neither team looked like it was getting honed up for post-season play.

i'm going to have to agree with foghorn bedford's sophmores did do a good job.

I think an important point to be made is the fact that our catcher got the win on the mound in his second time ever pitching. We won 3 laurel highlands games earlier in the week. Bedfords best lineup against Ridge and the game is not so close. For example: Stifflers 9 k's in 4 innings in first game. If we could have hit the ball on the ground it wouldnt have been so close. Nathan Hauer's church softball type heat and little bit of movement had us popping the ball up every time. Sometimes pitchers like that can be just as affective as flamethrowers and a lot more frustrating.

God yes -- let's diminish this win as much as we can. My point is simply that a kid who himself hasn't pitched too much this year came in and after some early trouble threw strikes and did what a good pitcher does: he left it up to his fielders. But the Bisons, who are used to such awesome heat in the Laurel Highlands, were out of sync or else they would have hit a half dozen homeruns. And of course nobody in the Sidling Hill League throws more than 50 mph, right? All church softball heat.

You know, I played and coached for Bedford most of my life, and though my alligiance runs first for the Lions because of my kids -- I'm still a stalwart Bison fan. But it's this condescending attitude that's sometimes pretty hard to take.

For not pitching much at all Ford was indeed pretty effective. By the way, Hauer, a sophmore, is a kid who hasn't been allowed to overthrow during his upbringing. I guarantee you that for his junior and senior years he'll be throwing the ball with a lot more velocity.

i think kyler did really good at the game pitching i didn't know he could pitch like that...i also think seth roy did pretty good at third...fred halbig played a great game he had alot of catches...ryan hess needs to throw the ball a little better...but overall i thought it was a good game...there were mistakes for both teams but i thoguht it was really exciting...hopefully they'll play eachother again!!
