And those signing up for the Army and National Guard understand the risks more than ever, since many of these weekend warriors have been sent to Iraq, and some won't be coming back. That is, perhaps, why several branches of the armed forces are having trouble meeting their quota. It isn't because of Afghanistan, it's because of Iraq. And we have to reinstate a draft to meet the quota, again, it's because of Iraq. And yes Moldo, we would have gone 4 years without an attack if America would have left Iraq be. How long was it before the next attack after the WTC bombing in 1993?

Another great post by Analyst. First he inaccurately says Ft. Beford exists, then he tries to get the topic off-track even more. Yes, I have rehabilitated thousands of prison inmates. This is not a thread of "what you have done", this is about abortion. When Mommy says, "why isn't the grass cut", is it okay to say "I cleaned my room"? No, not when she says to cut the freakin' grass. Wjen your boss says, "Hey Analyst did you do that archeological dig at Ft. Bedford like I asked you", do you get away with, "No, boss, I was hanging out at Best Way Pizza with LP, but we filled the gas up in the company truck". Nice try. Kudos for being a good person if you did what you said you did, but let's not pass the buck. If you hate abortion, tell a girl to have the kid and you'll raise it.[/quote]

Nice TAE, very nice. First you accuse the conservatives on here for not doing what we preach.

Then when asked what you have done, you say it's changing the subject. Probably because you got put in your place when you found out we actually do some of the things that we believe in.

Typical liberal. Do they send you guys pamphlets on this stuff?

If the entire thread is about abortion, and no one is allowed to change the topic of your thread, then why aren't you bashing your liberal buddies for talking about Iraq?

And besides, Best Way pizza sucks. I'd take Dew Drop pizza over that junk any day, and I can drink a beer while I'm at it.

LP- You're being insensitive to all the young'uns on here by flaunting your ability to consume an ADULT beverage while you eat your pizza! BTW- where is this Dew Drop pizza? Always looking for a good place to eat. Have a cold bev. for me. Maybe someday I'll buy you one!

I like adult beverages when I get the opportunity to drink them, lol. Coke and Captain Morgan is some pretty good stuff.

And Pale Rider, having met you and having an idea of where you are, I think the Dew Drop might be a little far to travel for beer and pizza, but that's your call. Hey LP, isn't that in Manns Choice?

Well, just like most fine establishments in Bedford County, it's in the middle of nowhere. Close to Manns Choice, but it's right along Route 31 between Manns Choice and New Baltimore. As your traveling west on Route 31, it sits right along the highway on the left, about 1 mile before the road that turns to New Buena Vista.

If you blink, you'll miss it.

And while the pizza isn't bad, the place is best known for the fabulous hot wings. You won't find better wings.

fleaflicker: I like your logic. Since at least 8 years went by between the first bombing of the WTC in 1993 and the next one in 2001, you're saying that even without getting involved in Iraq another 8 years may go by before the next attack? Is this like the 7 year locusts? Attacks come around in cycles?

Flea- I'll bet I know as many backroads in Bedford County as you do. My family has a hunting camp just south of Glen Savage in the state gamelands. Pap had a viable farm there, but now that he's passed to glory, it's mainly just used for hunting. He also at one time owned a farm near Madley, just off 96.

Moldo, after the WTC bombing in 93, we pretty much did nothing. And 8 years went by before the next attack on American soil. So really, who knows what would have happened if we had done nothing this time (which would be really stupid, but still)? Perhaps we haven't had another attack on American soil simply because they haven't gotten around to it. Perhaps the attack on Afghanistan had something to do with it. Perhaps even the attack on Iraq, and having 100 thousand plus troops in close proximity to be good sitting ducks for terrorists, has something to do with it. Admittedly, the troops there aren't as much sitting ducks as say the WTC was on 9-11, but they're over there and there is no way they can really tell the friendlies from non friendlies at a glance. I mean, that 8 year old kid with a backpack running by troops on the way to school could be carrying his books, or he could be carrying a bomb. But I don't think that one can effectively wage a ground war with terrorists. They're sneaky, can blend in with the general population, and blow up at will. Our troops over there stick out like a sore thumb. This is not an effective way to fight terrorism, as our troops are at a huge disadvantage. They cannot identify the enemy, but the enemy can identify them.

I would think the best way to fight terrorism would be to use spy planes, figure out all the terrorist camps, and then launch a missile there, or use heavily equipped ground troops to ambush it, something that would take it out without putting our guys in a situation where they don't know who the bad guys are.

So to sum it up Moldo, I am not against the war on terror, but I am against the war in Iraq, as it was a huge mistake tactically to put ourselves in a vulnerable position, and especially since Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 and posed no threat to the United States. We are losing young men over there every day because of this.

Pale Rider, since I, unfortunately, didn't get too much experience driving around until I got out here to Cincinnati, you probably know more roads around Bedford County than I do. But I still think that's a bit of a drive for beer and wings. At least for you it would be.

Shed a tear for me, LP. Better yet, do what you want to do: take all those who disagree with your views and make them do quarry work like the Jews at Mauthasen.

Manns Choice where the nigguhz be.
