Sporting News Big 10 preview
When you play in the Big 10, you should be alotted the cheesecake teams to 'gear-up'. Why does everything turn into Pitt-Penn State? Pitt made the BCS virtue of a BS rule that has automatic bids. They won 8 games, lets stop the dang world from spinning. Yes, Rutgers beat MSU last year, but MSU was CLOSE to being bowl eligible.
Rutgers, being the powerhouse they are, finished 4-7.
Nebraska sucked last year, finished 5-6, and they beat your beloved BCS Panthers.
The BCS dominate Panthers held on for a W vs. a .500 team last year in Notre Dame. Look out, tough games all over.
I could go on, but you know what, it's not worth it, beacause all you're going to say is 6-4 HAHAHAHAHAHAH. Two run homeruns, haha, yea PSU. I have a question, what good, dominate teams did Pitt beat this year, or hold in a tough game to get all this hype?

NO, I'm going to say 3-9 and 5-6. End of story, PSU STINKS. Pitt's been the better team since their last meeting 5 years ago. Deal with it.

2 years and it's a terrible team. dang, what do you call the 15 years of pathetic-ness that Pitt had? By my math, you still have 13 years BEFORE you can start to run your mouths...

Gee, MSU was ALMOST bowl eligible. WOW! You're either bowl eligible or you're not. Why should BIG 10 teams be "alotted" a cheesecake non-conference schedule? Are they special? Isn't Indiana, Northwestern, MSU, Illinois, enough?

No, but when USC chooses lesser competition, it's not a major issue. Being one game away from bowl eligibility is better than being Rutgers, 4-7.

Re: Sporting News Big 10 preview
It's been more than 2 years of lousy ball by PSU...They're under .500 since 1999.
Argue all you want: PSU has Parade AAs all over the place and all they can do is 3-9 and 5-6? Now THAT is pathetic-ness, especially in the area of coaching.

Ahhh, the Sagarin Rankings. Before we make fun of Furman and other I-aa schools, last year Furman (and Rutgers by the way) was ranked higher than Indiana and Illinois in the final poll. Also, four I-aa schools (James Madison, Harvard, New Hampshire, and William and Mary) were ranked higher than Penn State. And it doesn't matter what the final records were for MSU and Rutgers. Rationalize it any way you want. Rutgers STILL beat MSU head to head.

I don't care what MSU and Rutgers did. All I care about is PSU, and all you seem to care about is bashing them. You guys are worse that H-wood.

Re: Sporting News Big 10 preview
Here's the question: In the Big East, how many top 25 teams are there? How many top 25 teams are in the Big 10? Compare and contrast. By the way, two of those teams mentioned, Cincinnati and South Florida, are now in the Big Weak with Pitt. So PSU playing them doesn't really matter because in all likelihood, they are on Pitt's schedule too.

You anti-Penn State fans are really something. Gee I remember when Johnny "Comes marching home" Major returned to save the once powerful program. Duh I don't thinks it ever happened. In fact the Pitt football program fell off the face of the map. The program has trouble filling the seats except when the Mountaineers come to town. Heck people give Pitt tickets away.
