19 receivers on ONE team. WOW. Keep 'em coming. And by the way: When Sukay told the reporter from the Tribune review that "he knew immediately after attending the PSU-OSU game that he wanted to be part of Penn State": He either 1) lied to the reporter to embellish his decision or 2) led Pitt and Notre Dame on about his wanting to attend those schools. Either way it speaks volumes about his character.

So what if Sukay is not a top-notch safety recruit? He's obviously good enough for him to be considered for playing both ways. I mean, we know Bradley sucks and doesn't get the most potential out of a player, right? If Sukay ends up at safety, the kid is obviously okay with that. They didn't hide the depth chart when he came to visit.

Didn't you and I have an argument one time about Kanuch taking those visits to UVA whenever he was saying he wanted to go to UCLA to run track? I had the stance that he was leading UVA on. I'm pretty sure you said the exact opposite and he should take advantage of the opportunities to go down there and hang out, even though he had no intentions of playing for them.

Sorry. I don't remember that conversation. And I don't believe in leading people on. Morelli led Pitt on until 9 AM on letter of intent day when he held a news conference at his school to announce he was stabbing Pitt in the back and going to Penn State. Do you think it's right to lead people on? If, as the newspaper article said, Sukay KNEW he wanted to be part of Penn State in the Fall of 2005, why lead others on for 8 months? Why waste everyone's time and effort. What purpose does that serve?

Well Moldy, here is the thing: PSU just only recently offered Sukay a scholarship. So he did not lead Pitt, ND, etc, on for eight months or however long it was. There always was the possibility that PSU would never offer Sukay a scholarship.

If you go back and read. I posted on the same day when ND offered Sukay (May 24) a scholarship and said the he would go to ND. On Tuesday, June 6, Sukay visited PSU and was given a formal offer.

So between the Ohio State game October 8, 2005, and June 6, 2006, Sukay did not have a scholarship offer in hand from PSU.

How was he leading anyone on?

I could see if he had an offer in hand from PSU during that time and was telling Pitt, ND, etc that he had no favorite when he "secretly" did.

As he said to the Post-Gazette, Scout, Rivals, etc, it was a tough decision, and by all accounts things went down fast.

It shouldn't even matter if he has a favorite school in mind. Isn't it human nature? I mean, we are talking about kids here who play a sport, obviously really like that sport, and grew up watching it. Location also plays a big role. Growing up in Oakland, I can see if a kid there would be a big Pitt fan and want to go there, even if he is getting offers from say USC and Texas. I dont think that's leading people on. And I dont think it's leading people on if that kid goes and checks out what UT or USC has to offer. Didn't Sukay go to Pitt a few times? Yes. Notre Dame? Yes. They gave their sales pitch. Penn State won.

TAE and Frosty... off topic, but you MUST go to BWI and read the post made by KING AD BUCK and his adventure. Read all the chapters...it is one of the best things I've ever seen. It looks like this guy had one of the craziest times anyone could ever have. I might just post the whole thing here.

Real quick note for all the haters...

Nick Sukay is listed on Scout as a 4-star SAFETY. Looks like the whole "you didn't get a 4-star S, he's a 4-star WR" theory is absolutely false. Looks like Sukay doesn't mind playing defense after all.

Post your addresses so I can send you all a box of tissues.

Two questions raised by frostlions last post. If Sukay is so good, why did it take PSU until June 6 to give him an offer? And if Sukay indeed knew immediately that he wanted to be part of Penn State after the PSU-OSU game (like he told the tribune Review), why did it take him over 2 weeks to jump at Penn State's offer? Something doesn't jive here. I really think he lied to the press when he gave his interview after he verballed to PSU

And he's the first kid to take his time deciding where he wants to spend the 4 most important years of his life, correct?

So what if things don't "add up" in your book? Who cares? It's not like what he did was outrageously drawn out and hugely publicized before he made his decision, he "hasn't even played a down in 2006 yet", so what makes his process so terrible?

Do you find it possible, that when he sat down to decide where he truely wanted to go to school to continue his football career, he couldn't forget about the 12,000 Pitt fans @ Heinz Field during any game this past season, or the 110,000 fans that stood out in the rain all day and were louder than they've ever been in one of the biggest games in PSU football history? Maybe that was his deciding factor. Maybe after sitting down and thinking about it, he couldn't get past that point, and that's what made him choose the Nittany Lions over the Irish and the SPitt Panthers. Maybe...

That had NOTHING to do with his decision. He told the Tribune Review reporter that he knew IMMEDIATELY after the OSU game that he wanted to be part of Penn State. What was there to mull over? I think he just wanted to sensationalize his decision. Or he was lying? One or the other. Quite simple.
