THIS IS A REPLY FOR HOUNDDAWG...COACH CLARK IS WHERE HE WANTED TO BE FROM THE START. HE WILL WORK WITH WHAT HE HAS AND MAKE THE BEST OUT OF IT. LOOK AT OUR EXCHANGE STUDENT THIS YEAR. HE HAS NEVER WRESTLED BEFORE AND HIS FIRST MATCH HE PINNED THE BELLWOOD KID IN THE FIRST PERIOD. THAT SAYS ALOT OF HIS COACH. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE YOUR JUST JEALOUS THAT YOU DON'T HAVE HIM.

I would have to agree with the most of you on this. Coach Clark is awesome as a coach and a person. I highly doubt that he will leave Northen Bedford any time soon. He loves his wrestlers way to much to leave. You can tell that the kids adore him! Look how hes helped alot of the kids

I agree completly on that, now i know that kid has a 2-3 record right now (or something like that), and every match he has either pinned his kid or got pinned..but to have them 2 pins, he has more pins then over 1/2 the team does right now and this is his first year! That shows alot about Coach Clark and how he can coach.

I know I should not do this but not since the tourney is a week in the past I'll post.
I stumbled across some info that could have kept Claysburg from participating in both days of the tourney. (I repeat could have)
In a casual conversation it was mentioned that the team practiced on Sunday the 7th because of the crappy weather on Sat. (not a problem in itself)
But with nice weather the rest of the week, I'm assuming they also practiced Mon and Tues to prepare for Wed with Mt Union; and then practiced Thurs for the tournament Fri and Sat. (I don't know for a fact every weekday was practice)
There's a PIAA violation. The online handbook clearly states :
Contests and practices are limited to SIX days during a calendar week. I'm assuming that CK chose to add a day to that but they should have had off either Friday or Saturday. (or another weekday before that.)
Why not say anything? I'm just a fan and it probably would have taken principals to verify such a thing. Also in the long run, it would have hurt the 14 kids and I don't have anything against them.
I do admit, being from another school, it would have been interesting to see Coaches and fans react to this one but in the end it was good nothing was said or done.

I'm not a Claysburg fan, but all I have to say on this is "oh well"! One extra day didn't do anything for them and anybody who would pursue a complaint about this is obviously just out to get someone. I myself had heard about this during the tournament and from who else but NB people (who I love). This instance seems justifiable, also considering I was told that Sunday was eliminations to fill the spot of an injured wrestler. Now if violations like this would continue to occur, the issue may need to be pursued.
Are you kidding?

If someone would want to pursue this, then they might was well start pursuing every single team with a wrestler in Ken Chertows Sunday clinic, Young Guns, UPJ's Sunday clinic, Pitt Bull and All-American Sunday clinics. And that's only the beginning of the places that offer open gyms on Sundays. An open gym is not a practice, there are separate definitions in the PIAA handbook. I agree with everything 4him said, except the "continued violation" comment because this wouldn't be a violation.

Yes, it's pointless now and this will probably continue without anything being done, but it was interesting in itself. I guess it just goes to show that people will do anything and everything to gain an edge. Cool post myonlypost.

A rule is a rule. And if this is true, then coaches are violating rules. What kind of leadership example are they showing their atheletes --- that it is O.K. to bend or break the rules sometimes. I hope not.
Morpheus - an open gym at an off site facility is not the same as an official practice. But if what 4him states, that this practice was at their school and was an elimination for a varsity spot then that would be an official practice, And a violation of the rules. I wonder what PIAA would have to say about all of this.
