I know he bailed, but you obviously didn't see when he pretty much shut down Mike Velcheff of Westmont, who has won two tournament MVPs

This a message board for WESTPAC. Don't let the BM or Dill fanbase get you off track.

Rockwood is playing good basketball nice win at Berlin in the tourney.
I was surprised to read that Blacklick Valley beat Shanksville. Shanksville returns a solid group of players.
Monday opens up Section play.
SOUTH
Salisbury at Rockwood
Shanksville at Shade
Berlin at Meyersdale
NORTH
Conemaugh Valley at Ferndale
Blacklick Valley at Conemaugh Township
Portage at North Star
Any predictions on the opening match-up?

I was at the Shade game and thought Blacklick was a very good team-the best Shade saw in the WestPAC to date. I'm not surprised they came out on top over Shanksville.
Here's my predictions of the winners for 1/5/09:
SOUTH
Rockwood
Shade
Berlin
NORTH -I'm not as confident in these picks, but here goes...:
CV
Blacklick
NS.

Hey, I've got an idea
Since Windber hasn't been and isn't going to be any basketball force this year or in the years to come, I think the Windber Rotary tourney should be moved elsewhere.........to some district that can offer competition.......Wow.....no competition from Windber on either night!........

I saw Blacklick Valley at Shade and thought they played a good game to a point. In the third quarter Shade just put it together. Shade had too many weapons. Your picks look good but I think the toughest pick on the board would be the CT-BV game at Township.
Conemaugh Valley should be solid and North Star is probably the pre-season favorite in the North.

I agree with DrJerkyll's picks, except I'm on the fence bout the CT-BV game. I think that one can go either way, but just for kicks, I'm gonna go with Blacklick to get something going from Ctindian00....he's been ominously quiet as of late. :?
