I want to start by saying that I have absolutely no problem with kids deciding to go to McCort. It really doesn't matter to me when they decide to go or what their reasons are for going.

That being said, in my opinion (and the opinion of many others), they should have to count the enrollment of all of the schools they pull kids from (which would cause them to compete in the highest classification!) In a co-op situation, it doesn't matter if just one kid from a school participates, the host school still counts the entire enrollment of the other school. I really don't see how this is different. I don't think anyone could ever complain about the so-called "recruiting" situation, if the influx of student-athletes fairly affected their enrollment.

I honestly think this is the only thing that makes the McCort, and any private school situation unfair. Classifications are selected based on the number of student-athletes that the school has available to participate, and private schools definitely have a major advantage in this area.

Here's the approval of the transfer:
http://www.piaad6.org/min030409.pdf

Question 1:
Is the kid a senior? I assume he is since he's on the Renegades roster already.
Question 2:
Since it didn't come before the committee until March (on the first day of practice no less), did he actually transfer in the middle of the year?

If the answer to both of those questions is yes and it was approved 16-0 by the committee, that process has gone beyond being a joke.

This is becoming quite a joke to our whole area in every sport. Even at the college level, where freedom of choice is STRESSED to say the least.. there is atleast some form of punishment in terms of sitting out a year or whatever that a student-athlete must do if he/she transfers. This just makes it seem like highschool sports are not important, why even have a championship and give trophies if you're going to have rules like that?

i want to start by saying i have no problem w/ kids deciding to go to heathen schools. But here is something all you philosophers never grasp: As grappler suggest "they should have to count the enrollment of all of the schools they pull kids from"....hello geniuses they do not have a school district; each & every kid attending BM is from a school district! Where do you draw a line?

And since Biff brought up transfer approvals let's look @ the exchange students:

And On a motion by Kathy Getz and James Price, Nadine Mildner, from Germany, is eligible to
participate in sports at Forest Hills.

On a motion by Kenneth Bussard and Donald Hosterman, Arina Waehama, from Thailand, is
eligible to participate in sports at Hollidaysburg

Vman's ruling: Since recruiting kids from other countries is an unfair advantage i hereby declare that fh has to take on the entire population of Germany in all sports for the next six yrs (since they lied about their actual #'s for that long, we'll call it a wash)

And Hollidaysburg moves to AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA as they take on the pop. of Thailand

say good nite lakerfan, Vman tires after long day!!

Vman with his usual rubbish. The German girl I'm sure has a great track record for basketball, volleyball, etc. just like the LV kid had for baseball. You see at public schools you get EXCHANGE students, and these exchange students usually have to play a sport in order to meet the criteria they agree to when they leave their home country. But I'm sure it's the same for the LV kid.. lol

It is very simple VMAN. If the kid comes from any school district other than Johnstown then that school district SHOULD be counted against McCort's enrollment. It is that simple!!

its simple ..... parents pay for their kids to go to mccort because it pays off in the long run. Last year the graduating class of 2008 had over 8 million dollars in scholarship money

thats more than westmont richland foresthills and johnstown combined

let me repeat

more scholarship dollars than westmont richalnd foresthills and johnstown combined.

and as much as i hate to say it , vman is right ...... mccort has no place to start recieving kids and therefore has to get its name out there through advertizement in order to remain a school ..

kids going to mccort is a harsh reality we have to face ..... paretns want the best for the kids .... and truth is mccort is the best for the kids

im sensing jealousy ?

For the 10 zillionth time:

McCort promoting its advantages and parents sending their kids where they wish: No problem.

McCort being able to draw the best kids from 10 different school districts and still compete in A/AA: Problem.
