Re: Best Players in the West-Pac This Year?
Iceman, do you know the original iceman? If you don't than you do not know what you have in fyock. Tell me who the iceman is. Then we'll talk.

Iceman's got 2 posts. First one on wrestling** and one on basketball.
This one only has second hand knowledge about basketball. You know the apple/tree saying?

At this early point in the WestPAC I am going with Ferndale's Ryan Gaunt as the top player thus far. Tuffnuts who guarded Gaunt when they played Ferndale and he poured in 37 points. I will bet the answer you give is not Smith.

Tuffnuts - you should realize that a parent's tongue is an extremely dangerous weapon. When a parent makes it clear that they hate coaches and relay this to the player, then the player forms a poor opinion of the coach as well. Coaches are not stupid and in a town the size of Cairnbrook they are well aware of your opinions. This is apparent being that you watch football games with binoculars from the street. Tyler Smith is a heckuva an athlete but opinions and post that you express bring a negative focus on this player by the general public. Coach Fyock must play to win because if he was a stubborn old dog your player could be on the pine because of your statements. He is in it for the right reasons, for the players and he looks past your publicized opinions.
Coach Boley on the other hand seemed to try and start a program with discipline principals that did not sit well with everyone. Urban Meyer with Joe Paterno, Lou Holtz and Pete Carroll on his staff could not turn Shade football around at this point.

I don't know if you saw the Ferndale v Shade game but I was extremely impressed with the Gaunt kid and his level of play throughout the entire game. I only saw him play once, so I am in no position to say that he is the best player in the westpac thus far, but he sure did impress this basketball fan.Prince Sidewinder wrote:At this early point in the WestPAC I am going with Ferndale's Ryan Gaunt as the top player thus far. Seems to me that if Tuffnuts cared, he'd have taken the advice of others early in his infant posting hours and toned it down a few notches or stopped before he went on his posting spree. Tuffnuts will realize nothing....don't waste your time.Prince Sidewinder wrote:Tuffnuts - you should realize that a parent's tongue is an extremely dangerous weapon. Re: Best Players in the West-Pac This Year?
Yes, gaunt is a good ballplayer, but as I saw he has only a left hand, and is a driver. He isn't a pure outside shooter and isn't the best from the foul line. If I was coaching that game, I would play him a 2-3 packed zone and this would have eliminated him from scoring forcing him to the outside. Also smith was on him early and got called for some touchy fouls, and gibbons was then on him!!! I am not he one who watched the game through the binoculars, wasn't that gaunts father who was removed from the game for untolerable behavior. Just curious, what is smith foul shooting percentage? He was 9-9 in the somerset game and the captain and leading scorer for shade was 9-10 in the forest hills game. Pretty goog too! Just asking since you all know so much about the stats of the players, and seem so close to the team.......

If you go on to MaxPreps web site, most area coaches post their stats. It's a nice site for those teams/players whose coaches keep the information current. Also, it's a nice scouting/comparison site for games and match-ups.
