When's the last time someone from the PAC 10 not named USC played for a national championship? When is the last time someone from the ACC not named Miami played for a national championship? When is the last time someone from the Big East played for the national championship?

You settled the debate right there. Good job. Two conferences have stood out above the rest for a lot of years. Thanks for proving my point.

Roadie, how many games did Indiana get screwed? Should have beaten Iowa and Michigan, lost both on blown calls. 3 pt loss to Michigan, 1 pt loss to NW, 3 pt loss to Wisconsin, and that blown call versus Iowa changed that game completely. Indiana was pounding Iowa. Then that ridiculous magic-bullet fumble happened.

Indiana finished 4-8. 2 wins and they are bowl eligible.

Shoulda, woulda, coulda ....

Didn't a controversial call also turn the tide vs Penn State?

And maybe EKU and WMU got screwed too in close losses to the Hoosiers.

I have a real problem with 6-6 being bowl eligible too, by the way....And not just a Big Ten problem....across the board ncaa problem, especially when nearly everyone gets two wins in what amounts to scrimmages vs Div. I-AA and II opponents.

Again....Big East did well in Bowls in '09, Big Ten did well in Bowls in '10, still....over past couple years the overall quality of both conferences is at the bottom of the BCS barrel.

HR, I know that you probably know this, but if a D1-A plays a D2, it does NOT count toward bowl eligibility. Only 1 contest per season vs. a D1AA school can count toward bowl eligibility for a 1A team.

Correct W~T

and more on Indiana since AE's post warranted some research. If a bad call in an 18 point loss to Iowa cost them a win, then take a look at both the E.Ky. and W. Mich. wins....both opponents fumbled the ball on the 5-yard line in the fourth quarter vs the "shouldabeenbowling Hoosiers"

Upon further review, it could also be argued the might Hoosiers should have been/could have easily been 2-10.

Wow, talk about blown research. You better read that Iowa-Indiana recap again, bud.

This isn't about games that could go either way. In that case, Buffalo... WHO WON THEIR CONFERENCE IN 2008... might not have won a game. It's about bad officiating that went against Indiana, which is not Indiana's fault. Michigan and Iowa. Look it up, for God's sakes. You're smarter than this.

If Indiana would not have gotten screwed, then Iowa would not have made a BCS Bowl and that would have made the Big 10 look weaker a whole, not stronger. It would have forced every Big 10 team down a game and PSU would have been playing in the Great Outdoors Bowl. I don't get the whole "what if" thing because that's not what happened.

It's amazing how much flies over this kid's head. Good thing he's not on sentry duty.

This is not about "what ifs". Its about blown calls. Those are not "what ifs".

I can't stop reading the post about the beauty contest that suddenly made Miss Johnstown look good. That was CLASSIC reading.

This whole thread is hilarious. People can't seem to see that all conferences have bad teams. Take the top 3 of the B10 and compare them against the top 3 in every other conference.

The SEC has bums. The ACC has bums. The B12 has bums.

Come on guys...they all have losers.

OSU, PSU, and Iowa or Cincy, Pitt, and West Virginia

I have blinders on and I know and admit it. Throw all the bum teams of the country in a hat. Who cares what conference they are in...they all have them.

Going back to the beauty contest... That really makes me laugh. No matter what someone has to win... WVU has been legit for most of the decade. Other than them, the Big East really is putrid. Someone has to win games and win that conference. They are the one BCS conference where if you took their top 3 teams and stuck them in the ACC, PAC 10, Big Ten, SEC, and Big 12... I think you'd find that in most of them none of the Big East teams would finish in the top 3 of another conference.
