I know .......... Westmont and ferndale CONSOLIDATE and they can bring in say oww to coach.
......... but then say oww won't be able to spend time promoting and hyping westpac kids for all state teams and writing fantasy stories while downplaying the real achievers.

I think the PIAA should just move to a bowl-format similar to college. Each school gets to host a game every other year and everything will be completely random. The champions will be chosen by polling the coaches and the users of bleachercoaches.com and wjactv.com in no-limit voting action similar to that of the game of the week poll. Conferences will be determined solely by school size and not by geography so that we can no longer complain about who has more kids to choose from.

On a more serious note...

Do any of you know the size of the senior class at your school this year?

^ We graduate like 60-70 a year, my class had I think 63 we're actually smaller than a lot of A teams in this area, not Conemaugh Valley small but we're prob in the lower half of D6.

The schools wouldn't have to consolidate. We (Ferndale) already send wrestlers to Westmont to compete and track & field to Johnstown to compete. Don't know what the legal hoops would be to combine football teams.

Ferndale would have been a good team this year if not for the losses of Stumpo to CT, Eisenhuth to Jtwn, and in prior years, Duplin and Burnheimer to Westmont. You add back an experienced QB, a FB, and two OL/DL...wow, what coulda been.

Have to say that I'm proud of our team last Friday night. What could have been a blowout turned into a decent game. What could have turned nasty, still alot of bruised feelings with Stumpo leaving, was a fairly clean game. Ferndale players and Stumpo were joking with each other during the game and after.

Unfortunately, Ferndale's players were more mature than some of our fans.

Yeah Ferndale could of been a good team this year with those kids. I didn't think Ferndale would of got on Stumpo that bad. That's a shame.

The upcoming merger between Northern Bedford and Tussey Mountain next year will put the school at 294 Boys, 296 Girls, and 590 Total, making the NB/TM district the largest in D5. I'm very excited to see how competitive this new super-program will be in Bedford County. Look for the Panther-Titans to be dominate in Football, Wrestling, Basketball and Baseball on the boys side.

As a side note, what are they going to name the new school district? Northern Tussey? Loysburg-Saxton? or a completely new name? Perhaps those involved with the NB district on the board can shine some light on the specifics.

Well they will destroy the ICC then. That will make 4 teams in D5 AA. Will they still be in with D6 since they will have 4 teams?

Aren't both NBC and Tussey going through multi-million dollar renovations currently? I have said for years that if Tussey wanted to merge with another school district I would see them merging with Forbes Road before NBC. If Tussey and NBC would ever merge their sports programs would be one of the best in the area. Both of these schools (NBC especially) have some of the most success in the area for the size schools they are.
