All they need to do is have their secondary play the j-town receivers tough, and get a pass rush on simon and contain him. if they do those two things they can hold them to only 13.

yea but they play the recievers tough, rush the qb with a blitz its going to give gervon the chance to scramble and make a play, I would run 2 man, have the corners bump cover then lay in the flat to throw the timing off the routes. Johnstowns defense will probably come out aggresive, mccort should maybe run a few slip screens for a big play and make them back off. But i dont think it will be enough to beat them

not even blitz them, run a zone whether it be a 2 or a 3, and have a spy on simon. the d-line will have to get the pressure and step up huge to do it. and i agree with the screens and maybe some misdirection runs. but if they can get up early then i think they will deflate the trojans.

The qb spy probably wont work seeing that if you run that cover 2 or 3 and have a linebacker spy the drag route or a middle hitch will be wide open, and i dont think a 4 man rush will get the job done with pressure hes going to have to much time. I'm sure the mccort staff will come up with something but i expect johnstown to adjust to it and take over the second half

It's going to be tough, seeing that last week they went to a 4-4, rather than the usual 5-3 alignment. No Barbin over the nose will hurt.

Just to play to devil's advocate to oldcollegecoach/ath's post..... We really aren't necessarily talking recruiting just talking good high school football players. So maybe all 4 of Johnstown's receivers are better prospects than Leech, which I totally agree with, they are tremendous athletes and all have the right skill sets you would look for. But I don't see a big difference in the player's high school games. I mean Leech wouldn't have the stats if he wasn't a quality player. He gets it done all the same without being a college prospect. The best receiver from the area I've seen recently was Matt Varga, and he's better than any receiver this season. But he was short, so he didn't get offers. Still a good high school football player. He was First Team All State in AA in 2007, along with Jon Baldwin, who went on to be a first round pick. So the point in saying all that, is you can be a good player without being recruited.

Personally If I had any of the 5 receivers, actually 6 including Jerqual Wilson, and either one of the quarterbacks in this game to start a High School Football team, I'd feel pretty good.

But to start a college team it may be different....

I agree with you Crimson. However, if you look at production, it's hard to get good stats as a receiver for JHS because the ball is being shared so much. You could also make the argument that since Leech is the man he would be a marked man and he is still putting up nice numbers. Six in one hand, half a dozen in the other.

By the way, Mccort puts out a top notch game day stat sheet.

BTW, for those of you who didn't pay attention in school, the word is receiving C-O-R-P-S, not core. Guess its the text-tweet generation thing.
