I just think the five I mentioned are the best all around basketball players. Salisbury had those two and nothing else and they played every minute of every game against some weak schools. They got to shoot the ball more than my five because there team wasn't as good. Beiler is in my top 5 because he does have all around skills. I would take speigle, boyer, fyock or walker over both salisbury kids. They are good, but had to try to do it all every game for the elks and got some good numbers from it. It doesn't mean they are better skilled players than the 1st four. More time, more shots. When shade played those two, they were shut down. they got a lot of there big games vs paw paw and turkeyfoot and they are teams where the 4 I mentioned played less than a half against. Taking nothing away from them as they were good players and reached 1000 points, but which players would you take to build your team around? That is what you look at. If speigle, boyer, fyock, or walker played at salisbury, they would score 2000 points.jmo And points aren't everything in hoops. Some kids get stats because they don't have a team around them like others do. They have to do it all. I think the 10 I mentioned will be on the all county teams and hopefully they pick 1 more and glotfelty would be 10 if they give the m.v.p. and not count him as 1 of the five. If they take 6 miller would be 6. You have to play a tr-n-two on those two because they make up 80% of salisburys points.

agreed, some of them played the entire game just to set school records against very weak jcs team after playing a previous game to set the record he broke with 51, ct starters have only played 4 or 5 games start to finish, when they get a lead they put in reserves for xp. some of those mentioned are in the game with a 40-50 point lead just to pad individual stats which is why in my opinion that ct is 21-3 and moving on. i was at the ct/salisbury game and when ct put in their subs they kept there starting 5 in, when ct put in their jv they kept their starting 5 in not one sub, just let them pad, and the jv team playing the entire 4th held them to 7 points. had ct done what they did to jcs i am sure they would have scored another 20+ points but you get what you sow, which is why i am glad lesko subs out as soon as the lead is 15. these schools that run it up because they have a great squad soon have a season with average players and get the tables turned on them.

Exactly, padded stats...no one from salisbury, meyersdale, or turkeyfoot should be in the discussion. Goltfelty, someone from rockwood, ns, or windber are all better choices. And sppawfan if you really think a tri n 2 is neccessary to stop salisbury then you need to go to Torrance and check yourself in.

I thought you were high on your boys from salisbury on the other page you wrote about beiler as mvp and miller 1st team oldskool???? I do think that both of those players will be in the top 10 though. They are nice ballplayers. It is just that I don't go by stats when some players play the whole game and others sit out. Fyocks ave. of over 20 is legit and he plays on a team with 4 guys ave. 10 or more. Teams double him and he still ave. 20+ and sits out a lot of games. Also he is a team ball player. And speigle and boyer could score 20+ along with walker if they were the only players on the team, and like brigade said, that is why shade and c.t. moved on because it is about team, not individuals. I know beiler and miller scored more points than my 4 picks, but I would take those 4 on my team over any other kids in the county because of there overall performance.
