You know, you just told all of us what it is like to be handicapped. You told all of us that challenged kids would love to play one down of football or catch a flyball. YET you keep making handicapped jokes. And like I said, if you can't answer the original question, stay silent.

You won't answer my question either. The only handicapped person I'm making fun of is you. And everyone on here does that.

Probably. I would think the number of physically disabled students is insignificant and not counting them could allow numbers to be manipulated a bit.

I am not aware of exclusion of any students on any basis. If hornets is correct, it seems as if someone in a position to have initiated a change was using the logic I was suggesting. If so, I am glad to hear it, and I would hope that it would at least be discussed as applying to all schools.

Yes special needs students are counted in classifications. They have the same opportunity to play as "normal" students.....BUM...great reply btw

So if you have several male students in your school who cannot "physically" ever play football because of their handicap, they should be counted toward the football classification??? If there are, say, 3 physically handicapped students in each high school grade, then basically NINE kids are NOT available to participate in football but yet are counted toward a school's classification total. Public schools are required to take these students in, without exception. Private schools can exclude them. All they have to say is that they don't have the ability to teach special needs kids. Is that fair?? So in a round about way, private schools are getting ANOTHER advantage over their public counterparts, as public schools must count kids in their totals who just.... cannot.... play.
