Thomas tournament
Re: Thomas tournament
That's fair, I would say if you wanted the best indicator, look at d1 scholarships and NCAA AA's... I don't know the stat but I'd imagine its aaa heavy, on the same token shopp from Tyrone's aa and #4 in the nation so there's always talent at aa just not as much as aaa, significantly, and that's my point...all that being said I'm excited to see Thomas tournament, should be a good one

Ok we can both agree on that. Thomas tournament should be exciting.

Re: Thomas tournament
You guys are correct on more to pick from with AAA. So like you say more better ones. It,s always that way, always will be. And like younze said, sometimes a AA would win, maybe more than sometimes, but sometimes. Of course being a small town boy I'd always root for AA. By the way Tyrone beat Central tonight 39-34.
Re: Thomas tournament
I didn't want to be obvious, but FH hasn't been in it for a few years now, for different reasons, but its my understanding they weren't asked this year. Just curious.

Re: Thomas tournament
The year backed out on their own a few years ago, so I guess Bedford decided to look to other local schools since FH backed out on their own. The Rangers suffered a ton of injuries over a 2 or 3 year span and decided it was best if they weren't in it. I don't think Bedford goes around inviting everyone every year anyway, I'd imagine teams come to them now. It would be my guess that FH hasn't come knocking again. Just my thoughts...

Re: Thomas tournament
I would personally like to see them eliminate a few more local teams. I think some that just don't compete real well should be eliminated.
FH- would never have been asked not to come back. I believe also that they left on their own.

Re: Thomas tournament
I agree, I would like some of the poorer local teams left out and a few tough teams from down east brought in. If they want this to truly be one of the top 5 tourneys in the state, they need to add some more meat from the eastern part of the state.

Re: Thomas tournament
I think it would benefit some local teams to get out of the thomas because i think the teams see each other much. A CR kid could potentially wrestle a bedford kid 5 times in 1 season.

Re: Thomas tournament
believe it or not Captin I see your logic and I agree with you It can be tough on a kid wrestling another kid 5-6 times in a season and I would like to see more teams from the northwest and teams out east

How much input does a coach have, as far as scheduling whether to get into certain tournaments? Just trying to take a little heat off Strayer, but he wasn't head coach when the Rangers "pulled out".
