Yeah, that is what I said, recruiting rivalry will pick up. You really can read, congrats!!!

Let's beat a dead horse-Joe wouldn't play Pitt.

Bobby Engram has left Pitt for the Ravens. Guess we will find out if Engram was a good recruiter and position coach. Pretty slimy thing for Pitt to do. You know Bobby didn't just offer and accept the job today. I'm sure Chryst wanted him to wait until after kids were signed to leave. Moldo, your thoughts?

Moldy is not worried about Pitt, there is nothing he can do about that. His fascination is with PSU and providing his so-called service to the PSU fans. And yes I do need some comic relief at work once in a while, thanks MOLD.

I thought the same thing when I seen that today. Just bad timing the day after LOI day. I'm not gonna bash Pitt for it because they are losing a very good coach and most universities would have kept that under wraps until after signing day. A bummer for the WR recruits though.

Yeah, it was bad timing. Definitely losing a good coach, was hoping Franklin would bring him to PSU. But I'll take Terry Smith, will help with recruiting.

I thought Franklin should have gone after Engram, but my guess is Engram already had the Raven's job in his sites. Franklin knew Terry Smith from recruiting at Gateway. I think the loss of Engram might open some things up for Terry Smith in Pittsburgh. Adonis Jennings is probably kicking himself. Jamil Kamara, who had Pitt in his final 3, posted that he was glad he didn't go to Pitt now that Engram left.

Kamara went to UVA because he would be the number one option from day one, he would be a junior at Pitt before he was the go-to-guy. I don't think it was an Engram thing either way. And yes I'm sure Jennings is real butt hurt about having a chance to start as a freshmen.

"But typical Penn State grad move by Engram." - Some Pitt fan. Good for him, he's rising up the ranks quickly.

Did Pitt bring in any receivers in this recruiting class? Would they have gone elsewhere if they would have known Engram was leaving? Some may think it was a "slimy" thing to do if they knew this and did not announce it BEFORE LOI day. Actually, if Engram knew before LOI day, that was MORE underhanded. NOW Pitt has to search for his replacement when MOST schools have their staffs for next season already in place. I notice the Ravens were NOT interested in Terry Smith. That says a lot.

Pitt brought in 2 receivers, and an athlete. Adonis Jennings (4 star picked Pitt over Iowa and Arkansas in his final 3) Elijah Zeise Pitt over Arizona and WVU, and JaQuan Davidson Pitt over WVU and Illinois.
Do they go elsewhere? Maybe.
I can't fault a guy leaving for a better, higher paying job in the NFL. Engram was well liked by the players since he was younger, and played in the league. Was he a great coach? I have no idea. Street was a 5th year senior who was going to produce whoever was his coach, and Boyd is a freak talent. I guess we'lll find out this year how important he was.
My guess, Pitt keeps the same strategy. A young ex-NFL receiver to be his replacement.
