A rather lackluster performance by the shorthanded Saints led to Somerset's 8-5 win.

Somerset has played average most of the year, sometimes above average from what I've watched and read about them. How many teams are going to the playoffs? I've heard 4, 6 and also 8. haha I assume since Lilly and Portage are already in the D2 regional, that they won't be playing playoffs?

Interesting commentary. "perennial powers" were mentioned. When they draw from countywide areas, and as many as seven different school districts, they SHOULD be perennial powers. Who else can compete? Someone mentioned a few days ago about St. Michael being "They're just too good". LOL. This is just like the Public vs Private argument, and the beat goes on.

Don't disagree with your point, Manfred, but there's no commentary in the phrase "perennial powers."
Perennial = Every year
Power = The ability to control people or things

The article was the commentary referring to the 'perennial powers' I mentioned. How did you miss that.

Things are getting hairy with a lot of games to get in in the next few days.  Todays DH vs Bedford is now scheduled for finish of the 1st game where it left off in the top of the 2nd, Sun. afternoon @ 2 PM.  Bedford then has a later game.  Saints also have a later game @ 6 vs Patton.  Mon. home vs Richland, today's scheduled 2nd game vs Bedford is now scheduled for Tue. the 4th, and another w/ someone for Wed. before the playoffs start Thursday.  Ebensburg will not schedule its makeups with the Saints, so will likely forfeit 2 games.  I'm sure the rest of the league is in a tight spot too.

Bedford won, 5-1, and the Saints downed Patton 8-7 in what resembled a little league game. Richland will be in Sidman Mon. @ 6, and Bedford returns Tue. @ 10 AM. for a preview, maybe, of the first round? Hopefully all hands on deck for the Saints. Hickey threw today, I'm sure Fernandez against Claysburg tomorrow, so who will they have left for the Saints. Cecere and Wehner will be back.

Bedford and Claysburg play Wednesday.
Bedford plays Lilly Monday and Claysburg plays Cernic's.
