Props to the Pistons.
They are huge here in the Detroit Metro area. Their blue collar approach to the game combined with a bit of public humbleness plays very well.
Lets see what the "Zen Master" does now.
I do feel bad for Karl Malone. Probaly seeing the end of his career.

the time of the lakers is over, i believe. LA was humbled this series. they tried to win on talent alone, and im so glad that detroit showed you cant do that in the nba. there are a lot of 'if's' remaining in LA for the future now, and it's clear that bringing back this same group of players wont be enough for them to win the championship again.
this series would have been a sweep if not for a miracle shot by kobe bryant, his lone shining moment of the finals. detroit beat LA in every phase of the game. hamilton, billups, wallace, sheed, prince....all these guys came up big and their coach larry brown deserves a lot of credit to the win. he flat-out out-coached phil jackson.
im not saying that now will be the time for the piston's dynasty either. the league is wide open next season. detroit along with 8 other teams have a legitmate chance for a championship next season. the nba draft and free agent signings and trades will be huge in determining next year's champion.

The status of todays professional sports business minimizes the opportunity to create a decade long dynasty. Whether it be the NFL or NBA. Stacking a team and keeping them together is a tough job. The other side of this is that it allows every franchise to participate. Creating a level of parity and unpredictability.
WHo really knows what the upcoming NFL season will hold.

the owner of the pistons won three championships this year mystic?wnba, tampa bay lightning, and of course the pistons.. that's a pretty good accomplishment
also in reference to stacking teams... on espn they said that T-Mac's first choice in teams IF he tests the free agent market is the Rockets... Yao Ming, Steve-franchise-Francis, Catino Mobley, Tracy McGrady.. if it goes through that is a contending team.. barring injuries

Slacker what I was trying to say is this. It is possible for most any team to build a contending team for the short term. However it is a real challenge with as much talent among the player base creating parity that a longlived Dynasty is hard to come by. Players do jump around. A franchise player is only as good as the supporting cast around him.
