yeah. and why does the overweight baseball coach wear a uniform? is he going to play I mean he's got to be 50 years old. why is he wearing a uni?

Are punters players? How about holders? Long-snappers? I don't think think offensive linemen should be called players because they cannot even catch a pass without it being called a penalty. They are all players.

Mike Nugent was the top kicker taken in this year's draft. He was an option QB in high school, but I guess he is not a player. The truth is he is probably a better football player than any of the jokers on here saying that kickers are not players.

kris brown of the steelers(now texans) was a high school qb who had like 4.5 speed the steelers used him on a fake once to utilize his speed and athleticism. he got tackled. got a concussion and never was the same again the steelers cut him. boy i guess he was'nt really a football player than. if you can't take one hit.

If tussey would start a soccer program, where would they put the field? And would it have a trailor park in the outfield like the baseball field?

hey now ham, think back to junior year, during a jv team scrimmage, who was the fill in safety that got leveled by brian duff?

tussey could do like nbc did and use there football field as a soccer field too!

Just a couple of thoughts on Tussey starting a soccer team....

You all are correct in saying that Tussey probably couldn't support a men's team. Last year the football team barely had enough members to play at the end of the year.

Tussey has had AYSO for about 2 years now. This year they have doubled in size and next year they will be their own region, breaking off of NBC's region. So there is promise for the future. Right now, Tussey is like most regions of the county where its football or nothing. So, it may take some time to turn the area on to soccer, but hopefully by the time some of the younger players get to Varsity there will be a Titan Soccer team.

In the way of the field, Tussey just built a new field at the high school a few years back. They could share the field with Soccer but even if they didn't, the old football field by Saxton Liberty Elementary is now used for AYSO games. This field is more than equipped for play with a concession stand, scoreboard, and lights.

In the end it seems feasable that they could do it if given the funding and if they can drum up the interest. I wouldn't count on it in the next few years though.

Oh, and I've played both Varsity Football and Varsity Soccer (as Everett got soccer late and I played football my Sophomore year) and soccer is harder! I challenge any football player to come onto a soccer field and play. Soccer in general, and especially Bedford County soccer, is rougher than football anyday while requiring more skill.
