Two times in the article, Matt Sugam of the AP mentioned how easy Pitt's schedule has been so far. He stated that, "The Panthers are undefeated thanks to a soft schedule" and "Despite being undefeated, Pitt has not received votes in the AP poll do to the caliber of opponents". Is it really necessary for the local paper to mention it TWICE?Was the article about Pitt's narrow win against a better opponent, or a cut about how lucky they are to have played a bunch of nobodies. Most local interested B-Ball fans know the situations of scheduling, right? Get used to it Pitt fans. You're gonna see it the rest of the season. Unbelievable.
Matt Sugam doesn't work for the Tribune-Democrat.

I never said he did. He works for AP. Irregardless, the local fans have to read this stuff in the local paper. Can't the Tribune edit his column, or use another source? Don't seem to see many negative articles about other schools. Seems no matter what happens, they bring up something positive in their stories.

Editing articles to make the team look better? Man that’s about the lamest thing I’ve ever heard.

Like we live in a world where half the country believes the president when he says the news is fake and the press is the enemy of the people.
And then we’re cool with editing articles to make them more positive for my favorite team?
Kinda just seems like a complaint just for the sake of complaining. The Tribune isn’t out to get Pitt. It was just an article and that’s how the AP writer chose to write it. There’s no grand conspiracy, and frankly he’s not wrong.
Jeff Capel wanted the schedule to be easy to start the year, it wasn't a coincidental. This was strategic.

Trump doesn't want articles about him to be more positive. He wants them to be less negative. Big difference. When something negative is stated more than once in a small article, why BELABOR the point. You got your point across the first time, didn't you? What purpose does it serve to pick on someone.

Just win Tuesday and Pitt will get a little respect.

You can leave then Moldy. You've made your point. No sense in belaboring it.
I'm so happy we won't have to hear you picking on players from Penn State anymore.

Wonder if the AP covered PSU's upset loss Wednesday to Bradley University? Couldn't seem to find any article about it in the Tribune on Thursday, Friday OR Saturday. Couldn't even find the score. Could it be that the Tribune decided not to put it in the sports page? Selective journalism perhaps? Surely someone from the AP covered the game. Why ignore it in the local paper? Maybe they only print positive stories about PSU.

The Trib. Comedy at its finest. Does anybody read anymore? Today's sports page full-page color Steeler had #7 Ben Roethlisberger. Then at the lower right of the page, info listed him as C/G 6'3", 315#. Duh?
