If I was a player or coach for CR I would be on a daily mission to prove Ham and Gunner wrong.

Step it up.

great point ham.

The world views a coaches success by one thing.
His Record, and how many championships he has won.

Pleasing people is never a coaches job. A coach that worries about pleasing people has no backbone and will never be a successful coach.

Dawg, if you were a coach at CR and actually worried about those two then I don't suspect you would have alot of success.

My point is this. Ham and Gunner represent the feelings of a lot of people. They just arent afraid to voice their opinions.

What is wrong with being driven to succeed with a little emotion? "Get tired of being the guy getting kicked"

Here's my two cents worth.

No wonder football players at Chestnut Ridge can be confused. When they lost games in the LH they sucked. And now when they win games in the ICC
they also suck. In any one player's career we're talking about three, at most four years. Yet they are made to bear the brunt of all the past failures. What should these guys do: boycott playing until the season is upgraded?

And Dawg, despite your disdain for the ICC, they're not all weak sisters. Far from it.

Yeah, we know everybody's opinion. We know that some of us come from "hallowed" programs -- myself included -- though I think I misplaced my state championship trophy somewhere. Oh, right, there never was one!!! Even so, because I played football for that program, even in the dark ages, I'm a cut above those who come from other schools. Can you spell INSUFFERABLE?

And yeah, it's real easy to jump on players on BC who should just keep quiet. But no one seems to understand that behind the cockiness there's also a real joy at coming home more Fridays than not with a win. But no, these Ridge kids should truly be ashamed when they beat poor teams. And when they lose to good ones, well, that just proves their inherent worthlessness. Give me a freakin break!

In the meantime, today's news has a quote from a CR board member who insists that a good school and pretty facilities is what's important in a high school education -- not dedicated teachers, administrators, coaches, support staff, and parents. Can anybody spell MISGUIDED?

Southpaw has repeatedly and cogently delineated those realities that caused CR to make their football scheduling choices a few years ago.

But let's just keep bashing the kids and coaches.

they bring it upon themselves LionPride, do you think there'd be any reason for us to get on them if they hadn't said anything in the first place. When you post things like that on a place like this, expect what you're seeing. It's not that we hate the kids for winning football games in the ICC, or we hate them in general, it's when comments like "We are good no matter how anyone else views it" that cause the $#!t storm to start. Nobody would be saying anything about the coaching staff had it not been for it being brought up, BY THE STUDENT ATHLETES, who play for him.

Where are the NBC kids trying to get thier name out there because they dang near won the District 5 A Championship last year? Or Everett, or Bedford? You can't find them, only fans, NOT PLAYERS talk about the programs. THAT'S WHERE THE DIFFERENCE LIES!

criticize them for having pride in themselves and thier team, while a few months back (if memory serves me correctly) you criticized me for saying i've graduated from ridge, there's really no reason to keep hating bedford and the same holds true for you, i cannot recall where the discussion took place, but i do remember you (Ham) bashing me when i said that there were more important things in life than holding a grudge against a team after you've graduated and not having pride in where i come from (which i do have...you simply assumed i didn't), now you're bashing the students that are proud of where their from and want you to know it...little hippocritical don't you think? stop with the bashing of the kids, all it takes is one person to get on here and say something and instantly every single person assumes that's the feeling of all Chestnut Ridge kids. Last season i don't recall seeing brian barefoot, dan novak, casey shaffer, brock hillegas, etc. on here talking how great they were...correct me if i'm wrong there, but while you're saying all kids from ridge get on here and talk, you're wrong.

i think what ham is trying to say is that we're not bashing the ridge program because they play a weaker conference, we merely "bash" them becuase some people feel that becuase of their record against weaker teams, that they are now this football powerhouse or something, ham and myself are merely bringing these misguided children back to earth and politely pointing out that in the bigger picture (districts) THEY SUCK!

ok...that's understandable, but you cannot say "ridge sucks" without expecting some kind of reaction from the student body...that's like poking a dog relentlessly and then when the dog bites back, you have it put put to sleep because it bit you... who's fault is it that the you got bit? both!

and before you start giving me that crap that the ridge kids are the ones that start it by saying how good they are, take a look at any discussion of the ridge sports, i'm telling you, there's no discussion among the ridgers that say about how great they are until someone else comes in and says how much they suck, forgive them for defending themselves, like i said, there are some people that just need to shut their mouths, but it goes both ways.

The truth will become evident in the not so distant future. I personally hope and would love to see the Lions continue to develop and advance deep into the playoffs.
